  1. Martin in 20yrs telling people in the pub how he could’ve won the Champions League if other people had just seen the potential in possession % as a key stat in football.
  2. Sorry I must have missed the bit where I said Skipp or Hamza were the answer. My bad.
  3. Feels like the dilemma Martin has is he sees both Page and Braybrooke as 8s, and together they may not be defensive/physical enough for one or the other to cover the 6. Particularly in League One. It’s a genuine problem as both individually are more than good enough I just wonder if between them the balance is right.
  4. Watching his highlights he scored from three positions; through balls, cut backs and crosses. Can’t recall a single one of those he’s been served up in his time with us. Feel like he’s got something about him but he needs opportunities before we can really judge him as a goal scorer.
  5. Really makes a difference having a left footed CB, just creates better angles and makes us a little less predictable. Not sure he’s the answer but played well.
  6. Listened out for the commentator saying his name and genuinely don’t think I heard it.
  7. Shame as we played well at times, but as the commentator said “this is what happens to Russels teams, they play well, aren’t clinical enough, concede then go on to lose”. I hope for his (and our!) sake he can shake this reputation off.
  8. "Centre-back joined in Premier League and will want to do everything possible to get back into Italy team."... guess he didn't just consider just playing well as an option.
  9. Cracking signing. Unfortunately it was someone's jaw he cracked and not his performances. Already looking forward to his testimonial.
  10. While he is fairly limited and probably needs to go for financial reasons, he's our only midfielder (player??) who plays with any form of aggression. Sometimes mistimed, but he is good for a steaming in tackle that gets the crowd going and hopefully lets the opposition know they're in a game. If he does leave, and for the record I hope he does, we'll definitely need to replace that as we're still far too nice.
  11. Exactly all I want. And a clean sheet. Couple for Bristric would be nice. And an Alves curler from the edge of the box. Oh and Braybrooke at 6 with Page coming in and bossing it. Plus game changing subs from Martin. Bit of entertainment wouldn’t go amiss either.
  12. Given the league and I expect the agent, I'd say it's very unlikely this is a Rudkin signing.
  13. Thought he was world class at the weekend tbf. At pointing.
  14. There is literally zero point doing anything other than backing him currently. Was he the right appointment? Two games in there's obvious question marks but we need the transfer window to conclude and to see how his style looks with square pegs in square holes. Then we desperately need new owners and for them to decide who they want. Even if Martin went now we'd just get the next manager off the conveyor belt to try and work under Dumb and Dumber.
  15. Absolutely livid with the situation. Mine worked.
  16. Couldn’t see it in the ground, was it a sending off?
  17. Can’t say I know much about their team, but think I’m safe to assume that’s Rory Delap, Nat Lofthouse, Chris Evans, Under Armer and Kevin Webster starting for them. Could be a tough game.
  18. All in I’m ok with that. Hoping to see a lot more from Cullen with a physical striker occupying the CBs. Decent attacking options on the bench but we’re clearly desparate for Mavididi to leave so we can replace him with a backup striker.
  19. The 7 subs really does cause us problems. Really hard to put a bench together that doesn’t result in some decent players or youth missing out when everyone’s fit.
  20. Have you got any reason to think it wasn’t Filbert Street?
  21. They seemed to go through a phase of not caring, then not allowing open bottles but not sure where they ended the season or will start this one. Reality is it’ll be busy getting in so if they put them in their pockets I’d be staggered if they got pulled up for it.
  22. I love the sense of anticipation and excitement you get about this time of the day of a match. Historically it gets tempered slightly when the team sheet comes out then is smashed by full time. But let’s see what today brings!!
  23. Decent move for him to try and establish himself as a pro in the UK. Only we could go into the season short on strikers and still manage to move 3 out and bring 1 in before the first home game of the season!
  24. The hierarchy for most fans will be Exciting + Winning > Winning > Exciting > Losing and Dull. Enzo definitely fell into the Winning camp. As for Mavididi it's best for all parties if we part ways.
