If anyone was wondering what happens if you always skip leg day on one leg only. -
Summer 26 Transfer rumours 'X' and other Weak Links

This in itself feels like some sort of philosophical self referential puzzle and has made the whole question of Danny Ormerod's paternity even more confusing! -
I wish someone had purified Ayew last season.

There is something about renaming the stadium as either the Boehly Bowl or just Boehlywood that appeals tbf 🤩

If you look at it another way, over the last 10yrs the academy has cost us something like £40-50m. Over the same timeframe we’ve sold £140m of academy players and it contributed 7 players to our weekend squad of 18 with several other players out on loan. Is it perfect? No. Should we expect more? Definitely yes. But you could argue the academy is the only thing the club has got moderately correct, is the only reason we’re still in business and the real problem that needs fixing first is senior player trading and contracts.

On the plus side we can now answer the age old philosophical question of what humans would be like if God had made their spines out of blancmange. -
Replacing Ayew as your 9 with Bobby 🤨

Proof were it ever needed why Transfermarkt valuations aren’t worth the pixels they’re printed on. -
Feels pretty clear Alves was doing a job on the RW while we bought Burns and Howell in. Can see him competing with Watson for the LW now. Just need Mavididi and even Bobby to leave (but can see the latter staying). Burns and this guy on RW feels very good for this league and I like how the squad is slowly taking shape.

Just FYI, current tribunal fees are based on three things: 1. Fixed Upfront Training Fees (The Baseline) - the initial fee is non-negotiable and dictated entirely by a strict national tariff based on how many years the player spent at their previous academy. Ages 9 to 11: Fixed at £3,000 per year for all academy categories. Ages 12 to 16 (Category 1): £40,000 per year. 2. Contingent Future Add-ons (The Milestone Fees) - to protect smaller clubs, tribunals mandate substantial milestone payments that activate as the player progresses. For a poached U16 player, these contingent fees are heavily back-loaded: First-Team Debut: A lump sum is triggered when the player makes their professional debut for Man City or is named in a matchday squad. Appearance Milestones: Step-by-step payments are triggered at 10, 25, 50, and 100 first-team appearances. Under EPPP rules, these cumulative appearance-linked add-ons are capped at a maximum of around £1.3 million. 3. Future Sell-On Clauses - tribunals almost always award the originating club a 15% to 20% sell-on fee. This guarantees the developing club a slice of any profit Man City generates if they later transfer the player to another team. So assuming Motsi is successful, we'd get ~£250k up front, £1.3m in appearance fees then a 15-20% sell on fee. It just isn't enough of a deterrent imo and again weights the deal towards the bigger clubs.
-
The only way this gets solved is for the tribunals to start to put realistic values and future payments in place. So if you've developed a player from U9 to U16, a minimum of 40% of any future transfer fee seems reasonable. First team appearance equals £1m, 25+ matches = £5m etc. (just making up numbers). None of us know the tribunal fees but they always sound low when they are leaked and don't match the potential future value of some of these players in the modern age.

I know and was almost expecting this reply. But I stand by my original message. Without going full Pat Butcher... leave my Riccy out of this!
-
Sorry but I'm not having Ricardo in that list. Injuries let him down eventually and he was on an unrealistic wage but he was absolute quality in his day and all-in one of my favourite players over the last few years even towards the end.

Loan with £8m option to buy activated by a Balon D'or win bid incoming.

And if we do get 2 CBs in, please make sure one of them is left footed!

Be very surprised given we've moved Evans and Otchere on if his competition doesn't come from a young striker on loan from the Prem/Championship.
