Brighton apparently looking to poach Russell Martin of Southampton this summer, as they expect De Zerbi to get snapped up. Apparently talks took place during the last international break—not ideal for Southampton going into their run in!
-
I used to really like it, but it just seems so inflexible. Part of the fun of watching football these days is looking at how managers/coaches tweak things to take advantage of opposition. We don't seem to do that at all in 2024.
-
I kept the faith until after half time...but christ that was bad. What an utter **** up. No creativity at all.
-
I mean he had a shot on target, so I'm going to venture...yes?
-
No, people are overreacting. Not much has happened so far. We're not 100% on it, but if we switch KDH and Ndidi, then Akgun off for Fatawu soon, I think we'll get a breakthrough.
-
They're going to be shattered midway through the 2nd half. Pressing heavily.
-
For those moaning about us passing backwards, there's not really many ways for us to play it at the moment, Millwall are just blockading their final third!
-
Agreed, he doesn't look fully match fit I don't think.
-
All a tad scrappy so far.

Same. This season was always going to be a bit horrible though. Disbelief that we went down, followed by resentment and expectations we would just go straight back up...nasty cocktail, that. Football is hard, and I think many fans have forgotten that the high moments come following a fight or struggle. That being said, I have been guilty of negativity at times this season, and did recently suggest Enzo should go. So what do I know 🤷🏻♂️

Wow, I missed that Mansfield v Crawley result. Massive result there for League 2! Shame Brunt is out injured. I keep forgetting Thomas and Iversen are in the same division as us.

That is a very good point. I can't recall there's been a VAR call on that sort of an incident, but it does sort of seem like he's just in the box as the ball goes to Mads...? Regardless, it's a mistake from Mads and not one he's made often. The resilience to dust himself off and keep playing after without a knock to his confidence is fantastic.

He gets it

Their goal was so weird 😅. I don't know that I can really blame Mads or Faes for that, as frustrating as it was at the time. It was a brainfart, and the fact it's the first time it's happened this season given the significant shift in style means we should just shrug and move on. They'll both have been furious about it I'm sure. Felt like it wasn't going to be our day as the game went on, but seeing us try makes that easier. First time in quite a while I've felt we embodied our "Foxes Never Quit" motto again. Long may it continue, boys 6 more games. 6 more cup finals.

C'mon foxes! Keep going!!

Could be quite costly then—I hear he has many layers.

I think that's essentially the defense the club has against this. Extenuating, unexpected circumstances, if you will. Kind of makes Ranieri's refrain of "we need to get to 40 points first" in our title-winning season just a mantra for all non-top-six clubs to live by now. Even if you're in Europa League, make sure you don't get relegated first!
-
That's an interesting point, thanks. I guess it depends if the PL try to punish us for doing so in the EFL, or if we have to reach a settlement with the EFL like last time...which would of course go into our PSR anyway. Bleh.

In any other business, surely heads would roll for this. Yes, relegation has impacted us horrendously, but a) if they really cared about "sporting performance" as the justification for keeping this strategy going, Rodgers should have been gone significantly earlier than he was to prevent relegation and b) the wages dished out are shocking. As a minimum, Rudkin and Whelan have to go. The only reason I am slightly hesitant about Top is that I just think he has been a complete fool and doesn't know what he's really doing. If his father is one of our own, so is his son. But that should not excuse accountability. He needs to hold his hands up, and make changes.
-
This...this looks catastrophic. How on earth are we going to recover from relegation if we have to sell our best players (with clubs knowing we need to sell by 30th June) whether we get promoted, or not? Either way, next season we are likely to have a weaker squad, and no way to replace those important players. What the **** have you done, Top, Whelan and Rudkin? And how dare you put out a statement minimising how much damage it seems you've done to our club?

I think that's a key difference between our luck against 10, and Ipswich's: Against us, a team would just sit back, no question. Against Ipswich, there's still this belief they can be beaten, or aren't so good they'll demolish you. Then they suckerpunch. It's very us '15/16. Even this close to the end of the season, teams don't give Ipswich enough respect. And they punish them for that.
-
****ing Ipswich, man. They don't ever quit. Fair play to them.
-
Yeah that kinda seemed rude. Just completely cut away mid interview!
-
Yesssss Stephy! Lovely link up between him and KDH today. Now. ONE MORE. LET'S KILL THIS GAME OFF!
-
We have got to make this pressure count. COME ON!
