stix Posted 12 April 2016 Posted 12 April 2016 What's substandard about it? My picture is crystal clear.
DaveK Posted 12 April 2016 Posted 12 April 2016 Reduced my Sky down from the full tv package for the first time in about 10 years the other day (so lose Sports after end of season). Kept a basic package for the missus and kids but for movies and sports theres too much available online nowadays. Easy to find any sports online with a stream. Thinking of getting a fire stick. Sky need to drop their prices.
Strokes Posted 12 April 2016 Posted 12 April 2016 What's substandard about it? My picture is crystal clear.Substandard its 720p most basic TVs are capable of 1080p or more.
stix Posted 12 April 2016 Posted 12 April 2016 Substandard its 720p most basic TVs are capable of 1080p or more. Ah ok. Didn't realise Sky didn't broadcast 1080p. It's 1080i now apparently. No broadcasters currently broadcast in 1080p though do they? Apart from BT Sport UHD(only available with their youview box) and Netflix 4k( which the content is very small) who broadcast in 4k obviously.
sdb Posted 12 April 2016 Posted 12 April 2016 They've just increased their prices again. A £2 hd package increase for a substandard HD picture is for what exactly? Cheerio Sky, that is the final nail. Once GoT is through, I'm out! I had a £5 increase notification at the weekend. 4th in 2 years. I'm cancelling at the end of the season. Their sports coverage (only thing I want) is getting worse, yet they continue to charge more. Horrible organisation.
Webbo Posted 12 April 2016 Posted 12 April 2016 There's a massive new Premier league deal starting next season. How else do you think they're paying for it?

I thought all the free to air channels did but I'm not sure.

Yeah you are right seems the free to air channels are in 1080i, but sky are only just catching up, which seems weird for a premium service.

Legend_in_blue Posted 12 April 2016 Posted 12 April 2016 Well, they wont be taking my money for it! Although I'm sure they'll come crawling back at some point offering it all at some knock down price.
AyewJoking Posted 14 April 2016 Posted 14 April 2016 upgraded to the family package mainly so i could watch box sets, in particular walking dead which was advertised on the website on the day i upgraded. A day later and walking dead has been removed. called them up to remove the family package and the fúckers actually hanged up on me!!
