Robin hoods people list is also good for live tv, including sport. A lot of waffle at the start, the instructions start around 15.30

I cancelled all my TV packages and upped my broadband and got a Android box with XBMC, I now subscribe to sports access and get ALL football in full 1080p I think sports access costs me 30 quid for 6 months. You can get them off amazon you just need a good internet connection

I have one but struggle to find decent quality streams. I have BT infinity broadband so good connection

Absolute rip off, this, free market my arse. £150 for a box, £50 a year for all channels, that would do me if it was an option...

You don't even get the BBC for £50 a year.

I have the full Sky TV package, telephone, and Broadband. It now costs me £110 per month, and is going up again shortly. I am seriously thinking of getting rid, as it's become a real rip off now.

For those with an android phone or tablet, check out mobdro. You won't find it on the play store, you'll have to Google it. Worth its weight in gold. You will have to tick a box when you install it so it allows your phone/tablet to put a "third party" app on but it should display it for you so you don't have to be knowing the innards of your device. I found it when wizwig went. You can always get a cable from your device to tv for a few english pounds off of fleabay to watch it on the big screen.

If you ring up and cancel, can you ring back after say 29 days just before they cut you off to then get it re instated?

You have to be prepared to quit them, they've heard enough bullshitters to know who's pants they can pull down or not. I quit them about a year ago, they rang me to offer me free internet for a year and half price TV for a year, only last month. I said no thanks.

But surely if it passes you can take it up again? I have the family pack I think its about £30ish a month. I am paying the price per the website atm, had a good deal on sports but cancelled last month as it was going to go back up to full price.

they can reconnect you in seconds on the TV, the ball is in your court.

If you want to quit and don't want to be on the phone for hours listening to their bullshit, just tell them you are moving overseas. That tends to shut them up pretty quickly.

Any help appreciated ..... is there any way to record on/from these android boxes like a PVR ? Trying to persuade the other half to ditch Sky but the clincher for her is the ability to record TV programs. I've done a search on Google but couldn't find much info on it. ..... and has any of you got a recommendation on a particular android box? A fella at work has pointed me to an Ebay seller but there are numerous different devices on his sellers page..

There's a huge range on Amazon, at least you know you're safe with them. I have recorded the odd film off genesis but really there's no need as everything's on demand.

Originally got an android box for the Kodi, but gave up in it, too unreliable, too many poor quality streams. The gf just uses it for portugeuese tv now. All my friends swear by kodi but for me it just never seems to work well.

Now we mostly use Plex on the Xbox One and also Now TV as it has so much great stuff (ironically now tv is from sky). Cancelled netflix as that's shit too.

Kodi's incredible for TV shows & movies (they even have full Monkey Dust and a lot of the Look Around You eps), but their sports streaming is too hit and miss.

I disagree, well as far as Prem footy is concerned anyway. Since I bought an android box I managed to watch probably 7 out of city's last 9 games on there with no bother at all. Excellent streams as well. To be fair I've not tried to watch any other sport on there, apart from the F1.

I think the best she managed was when I moved the position of the TV and made a hash of the wiring, she rang up to cancel as we couldn't watch it anyway. As a result they sent someone out to completely refit it for us, gave us three months refund, and half price for 12.

A friend of mine only had broadband off them. When his router was faulty they wanted to charge him £60 for a new one. When he threatened to leave they gave him a free router and free broadband for a year.
