Brainy Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 Just imagine if the 90+ Burnley free kick didn't go in.. I think if that didn't go in we'd have atleast 6 more points anyway
Carlos88LCFC Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 Watching Sunderland vs Everton made me realize just how good we are playing. We should win this game, they are terrible at the back and will be nervous as fvck. Attack them from the start like we have done recently at they won't be able to handle it. I know all season we have said 'luck hasn't been on our side' but in the last 2 Sunderland games they have been extremely lucky. Crap at the back, no real threat going forward and a pretty slow team all over the park. Matching the attributes player for player, we should hammer them! Vardy, Schlupp & Albrighton should have a field day. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Zapp Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 Huddlestone, Livermore and Dawson going back to there old ground. Tottenham nothing to play for and seemingly don't want Europa league. Hull could easily win 1-0. We lose 2-0 to Sunderland and we are level on points with Hull and identical goal difference. In my opinion we have to win at Sunderland. None of this draw nonsense. so you think hull will win their last 2 games (and gain 4 goals on us) and we will lose to qpr im not saying to play for the draw because quite honestly sunderland are there for the taking, meaning we will probably guarantee safety with 3 points. sunderland is not win or bust. if we are 0-0 in the 90th minute i will not be calling to throw everything to get a winner. (even if hull are winning)
LedStar Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 Who Dares Wins Rodney!!!! Who Dares Wins!!!! If we play with the same intensity as we have during the last 6 games, we should come away from the Stadium of Sh1te with at least a draw.
Gerard Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 so you think hull will win their last 2 games (and gain 4 goals on us) and we will lose to qpr im not saying to play for the draw because quite honestly sunderland are there for the taking, meaning we will probably guarantee safety with 3 points. sunderland is not win or bust. if we are 0-0 in the 90th minute i will not be calling to throw everything to get a winner. (even if hull are winning) Agreed, just propesterous and a complete lack of understanding to say we need to win at Sunderland. Even if all of our rivals won the table would look like this if we draw at Sunderland and fixtures remaining would be: Newcastle 39 Leicester 38 Hull 37 ------------------------- Sunderland 37 Arsenal vs Sunderland Chelsea vs Sunderland Leicester vs QPR Newcastle vs West Ham Hull vs Man Utd A win against QPR would guarantee safety A draw against QPR would need Hull needing a win, Newcastle getting at least a point and Sunderland winning one of their games. Even a loss against QPR we still might finish above Hull if they draw and Sunderland would need to win or two draws. All in all if we draw at Sunderland it would take a remarkable sequence of events to see us relegated.
foxette Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 Of course we can - their form is awful at the moment, and there is some real fan spirit at the moment
Benguin Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 I think to make this thread appropriate for our current situation, you should change we and must around and add a rhetoric question mark.
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 Just imagine if the 90+ Burnley free kick didn't go in.. We might have still had terrible form but the two points ahead of where we actually were might have meant we didn't get so far behind we never got the rocket up the arse we needed and actually finished 20th
Guest Col city fan Posted 11 May 2015 Posted 11 May 2015 We need to keep playing how we've been playing. To be cautious now would be the wrong thing to do. I hope Pearson doesn't play for the draw. But I don't think he will.
NotTheMarketLeader Posted 11 May 2015 Posted 11 May 2015 This should have been the mindset all season. Agreed. It was a successful formula last season, and what the players are suited to. Why Nige ever tried to change our style of play I will never, ever, understand. Fortunately out of necessity he's had to return what worked before, and low and behold we look like the team that trounced the Championship once more.
CORNFOX68 Posted 11 May 2015 Posted 11 May 2015 I think this could be similar game to burnley away, sunderland will go for it route one degenerate into similar frantic pace not a lot of quality, also if they have initial success they will get large crowd behind them, i dont think pearson will have us sit back we have to do what we have done last few games attack from the start shut the crowd up an early goal and the crowd will get on there backs, one more win should do it i can see hull winning at spurs they are terrible at the minute, also utd are in top four now so will they be bothered last game?.
cc_star Posted 12 May 2015 Posted 12 May 2015 Leave everything on the pitch, except for regrets On current form it's 1st place away to 6th place. Tight, & I think it will be as cagey & scrappy as the Burnley game, could go either way
desertfox2 Posted 12 May 2015 Posted 12 May 2015 It's in our hands that's the main thing. One more win and we're safe. In the last 6 wins out of 7 run we have built up, we have beat sides way, way better than Sunderland. We seem to be a confidence side. When we had none we looked terrible when we get on a run of winning games we look incredible. No way we should be looking at anything other than trying to win the game. I can see hull getting something against spurs. Said it quite a few times on here but take kane, Eriksen and lloris out of the spurs side and they would have been relegated this season. They have conceded 53 this season even with a great keeper. same as burley, 1 less than us. Those players aside they are not a good side at all this year. Unless kane or Eriksen show up Hull could get something. We have to beat Sunderland. Qpr would love to send us down with them and it would be a game our lot would be under a lot of pressure if it goes to last game of the season.
