Akinbiyi24 Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 Huddlestone, Livermore and Dawson going back to there old ground. Tottenham nothing to play for and seemingly don't want Europa league. Hull could easily win 1-0. We lose 2-0 to Sunderland and we are level on points with Hull and identical goal difference. In my opinion we have to win at Sunderland. None of this draw nonsense.

Totally agree , go out and run at them ...and play to win
Gerard Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 Obviously play to win, that goes without saying. Setting up for a 0-0 is a recipe for disaster. However, a draw will be an excellent result for us, absolutely no question.
jammie82uk Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 Being cautious was what got us in this mess to start off with we have to keep going for it why change anything we have just won 6 out of the last 7 right?
Brainy Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 next weekVilla loseLeicester drawSunderland drawNewcastle drawHull winLeicester 38ptsVilla 38ptsHull 37ptsSunderland 37pts___Newcastle 37pts eeek. i dont think that is totally out of the question either
mundella boy Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK ANOTHER MUST WIN GAME THEN PERHAPS WE CAN RELAX AND ENJOY THE LAST GAME
Arriba Los Zorros Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 I think we can beat Sunderland, they are a poor team low on quality, and their fans are terrible and will be on their backs if we start well
HighPeakFox Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 Cannot imagine why Pearson would set up any differently - it's just a question of who goes in which spot, given the injuries. It's not like he'll think 'I know, we've just won 6/7, let's confuse everyone by mixing it up and bringing the back up players in.'
Matt Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 Forget Hull. What has been important during this great spell is we havn't focused to much on other teams, it's been important we've focused on ourselves only we can effect our own destiny. Other results helping us out is nice but we can't effect them and shouldn't let them bother us. I think during this great spell probably only 2 other results have gone in our favour? Arsenal beating Hull, thanks to the scoreline we went above Hull and Burnley beating Hull yesterday went in out favour. I must admit I feared the worst when Sunderland won in the early KO yesterday but we did what we had to do in our game and it didn't matter. Now next week Sunderland are gonna arguably be up for the game more than us, bearing in mind their games are us, Arsenal and Chelsea, likelyhood is they'll be lucky to get a point out of either Arsenal or Chelsea so their best chance of 3 points is against us, they will really want to win next week. We'd probably take a draw, ideally a win but I think we'd accept a draw. On the other hand the pressure will be more on Sunderland. But yes we must be cautious and we must realise the job isn't done yet - But just focus on ourselves not worry about what others teams are doing.
ScouseFox Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 next week Villa lose Leicester draw Sunderland draw Newcastle draw Hull win Leicester 38pts Villa 38pts Hull 37pts Sunderland 37pts ___ Newcastle 37pts eeek. i dont think that is totally out of the question either Be ok if that happened. If we go into the QPR game with the table looking like that I'd be pretty pleased. We'd have to lose at home to an already relegated QPR, Hull would have to beat United, Newcastle beat whoever they play, Sunderland win at the champions on presentation day and Villa get a point too. No way would all that happen.
Brainy Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 idk im pretty sure we could make it look a lot better than that next week, all we need to do is better Hull's result right?
katieakita Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 As much as I dislike spurs cannot see them rolling over at home to a Hull side that blew it at home to Burnley yesterday.
NotTheMarketLeader Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 Being cautious was what got us in this mess to start off with we have to keep going for it why change anything we have just won 6 out of the last 7 right? This. If we play for a draw, this season's results tell us that = defeat. Pearson going back to doing this would be unforgivable if it back fired. I would however forgive if we are positive, and continue to play to our strengths for these final to two games yet do get relegated. It's imperative that we be on the front foot from the get go.
David Hankey Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 All Leicester need to do is continue with the way they have been playing. 6 wins out of 7 games is practically second to none. We have to stay positive after coming this far and although, I admit, I had written them off in March the team has been absolutely superb in recent weeks and they know now they can do it. This will be the greatest escape in the history of the Premiership. 'Up the City'!!
SpacedX Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 I think we can beat Sunderland, they are a poor team low on quality, and their fans are terrible and will be on their backs if we start well No, their fans are not terrible - that's simply not true. In fact they're one of the most fervently supported clubs in the country. I recall watching Lineker's last home game, (who scored twice) - they were already relegated but despite being an evening game, they filled pen 4 and were doing the conga around the East Stand. Never forgot that Like the Geordies, such passionate emotional support can be a double edge sword and the Mackems turn quickly though, being their own worst enemy. It's well known amongst managers visiting Stadium of Light...stop their team from playing - shut them down, (which won't be hard), and within 25 minutes they'll turn on their side. Against a team like City with an all out attack mentality, they'll be attempting to lynch Advocaat by half time.
Bayfox Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 40/1 to go down. If I was cautious I'd do what geoff peters has suggested. 25 quid on it. Grand in the bank. For the record tho. They where so open at the back. Vardy will have a field day.
Steven Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 This. If we play for a draw, this season's results tell us that = defeat. Pearson going back to doing this would be unforgivable if it back fired. This should have been the mindset all season.
Benguin Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 We have two games to get 3 points against Sunderland and QPR and Hull have Two games to get 6 points against Spurs and United and even if they achieved that they'd need to hope we took a thrashing at either Sunderland or QPR. I know who I'd rather be.
CollinsLCFC Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 Just imagine if the 90+ Burnley free kick didn't go in..
reynard Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 As much as I dislike spurs cannot see them rolling over at home to a Hull side that blew it at home to Burnley yesterday. Have you seen Spurs play lately? They are absolutely shocking and have no desire to win another game this season as they don't want to play in the Europa league or whatever it is called. Burnley were at least trying which neither of Hull's next two opponents will really do.
reynard Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 We have two games to get 3 points against Sunderland and QPR and Hull have Two games to get 6 points against Spurs and United and even if they achieved that they'd need to hope we took a thrashing at either Sunderland or QPR. I know who I'd rather be. I'd rather be in our position but the difference in goal difference is only 3 though as we have scored more goals a 4 goal turnaround would be required. That isn't much of a cushion. The job is not done yet.
Fox 4 Life Posted 10 May 2015 Posted 10 May 2015 The bottom line is its still in our hands, beat QPR and we are safe regardless of sunderland result (unless we get battered which is very unlikely). The way we are playing at home and with QPR down and already in holiday mode that should be very achievable
