I wonder if there's a policy that player's player has to be different to player of the season. Last year it was nailed on drinkwater but vardy got player's player. Then similar thing happened this year. Hats off to Jeff anyway, didn't personally consider him but looking back he has had a pretty good season, best for us so far

i was disappointed how Esteban reacted to the question from Manish about him staying next season.

He was saying that he only signed for us on 27th August last year so there is plenty of time and certainly did not say he wanted to stay.

You could tell he is pleased with the season outcome, but it wasn't a speech that gave you any confidence whatsoever that he would be here next season.

Listening to it, I think everyone thought it would be doubtful that he will be here.

Great shame if he was to leave, but I suppose he is going to get a great many options and he will wait to see what they are.

It might be that schlupp is a real tryer in training too. The players will obviously see that.

It would be a great shame if Cambiasso didn't extend his contract.

He's a model pro and must be a great figure to have around.

That said, I wouldn't be surprised if he felt his work here was done. He's helped to keep us up and has been influential in that.

If he did leave, he'd get my full backing. Any player of his age may want to have one last crack at doing something different..maybe going to the MLS or China for instance, building up the reputation of such countries in all things football.

It would be a shame, but understandable.

I've not seen for many years the adulation that a single player has received at City.

And quite rightly. He's a special person.

He came here stating he wanted a football project not a paycheck. Be surprised if he goes to The New World seeking riches.

Pretty sure a big draw for him would have been our facilities and well established sports science team. I think he'll stay, play another year and do his badges here unless a job coaching in Italy calls.

If Cambiasso leaves it opens a big hole on the pitch, in the dressing room and at training. I hope Pearson and his team can convince him to stay. The guy clearly isn't money motivated, so prehaps a giving him a project where he tutors/coaches the current CMs in a leadership role would give him an incentive to stay.

Can see him staying regardless tbh. Another year of premiership football will be too much for him to resist. He'll be 36 next summer and could then go abroad to the MLS or another less rigorous league or return to Argentina if he wanted. He has more than one season left in him!

Sorry whenever any player is asked about whether he'll stay at any club - expect a general and non-committal answer.

We'd all do the same in the same position. He'll have many different options to consider. There's no point in him saying "yes i'm going" and there's no point in him saying that he's staying, because he doesn't know what'll happen next.

Just heard Schlupp speak for the first time ever. I always imagined he would have a really awkward voice with lots of voice cracks.
