VLC86 Posted 19 June 2015 Posted 19 June 2015 I'm excited to see AK with a full pre-season under his belt. He's gone to Belgium.
4everfox Posted 19 June 2015 Posted 19 June 2015 I think Nugent will improve if he gets minutes. I don't see any way that he misses some of the chances he had in 14/15 and he was in good form before his injury. With similar minutes this season, I see no reason for him not have something like 8-10 goals and 4-6 assists. I'm sure he's going to be motivated now that he's been bumped further down the depth chart. Even if he stays as 4th choice striker and 2nd choice in the hole, that's a pretty damn good 4th guy. I'm excited to see AK with a full pre-season under his belt. I agree, Nugent is a great fourth choice. I reckon Kramaric will be top class next season and will cement himself as our best attacker. Vardy is Vardy and will always be a threat and Ulloa has proved himself to be a most useful mammal. We have an exciting attack already which leads me to ask the question, do we even need Okazaki? I'd like him, but it really isn't essential.
Swiper Posted 19 June 2015 Posted 19 June 2015 He's gone to Belgium. Didn't realize that. Oh well. I agree, Nugent is a great fourth choice. We have an exciting attack already which leads me to ask the question, do we even need Okazaki? I'd like him, but it really isn't essential. I'm expecting a good season from Kramaric but I'm not sure if he'll score more than Ulloa. I think Ulloa will get around 15 and Krama 12. We honestly could have an unbelievably balanced attack if those two score that and Vardy and Nuge chip in with somewhere from 6-10 each. I totally agree with you about Okazaki. I like him, from what I've seen, but I think he's a complete luxury and I would rather spend that money elsewhere. We've got 4 strikers who are all capable and all add something different and unique. Bring in Okazaki and Nugent gets pushed to 5th amongst the strikers (probably not a big deal because he'll likely spend more time in the hole anyway), but then who loses their spot? Surely Okazaki doesn't get brought in to sit on the bench. In Okazaki's defense though--- can you imagine running Vardy/Okazaki/Nuge/Mahrez on rare occasions based on match-ups? That's a lot of pace and a lot of disruptive pests. They'd get outmuscled by a ton of teams, but goodness that could be an absolute nightmare in the right situation.
Gerard Posted 20 June 2015 Posted 20 June 2015 I think Kramaric is a fantastic talent and is certainly the best footballer we have up front. However he does lack pace and height/strength. I think you have to have one or the other to become a top class forward so we'll see. It's possible he could also rival Mahrez for the in the hole role.
Gerard Posted 20 June 2015 Posted 20 June 2015 I'd wouldn't be concerned at all if we didn't buy a forward and would probably prefer we didn't. Unless we were to get a WOW signing we are blessed in the three attacking positions if we continue to play 3-4-1-2 with Vardy, Ulloa, Kramaric, Nugent & Mahrez. We need to get two centre mids and two centre halves. I'll then have every confidence we'll get at least 50 points next season.
