ARM1968 Posted 1 June 2015 Posted 1 June 2015 Ulloa proved he can score in the Prem. To me he ranks as a great success. I can imagine teams bring interested but doubt we will sell. He was a gamble that has paid off. To replace him would likely cost £15 million plus higher wages.
Wymsey Posted 1 June 2015 Posted 1 June 2015 Can be a bit of a donkey at times when he tries to run with the ball (but we've got strikers capable of doing that especially Vardy), but is useful when holding up play and often dangerous in set-piece situations.
My Nads Posted 1 June 2015 Posted 1 June 2015 People saying get rid seriously haven't got a clue, you are either very negative or naive. We need to keep all players who played a significant part in our survival and I'd say being top goal scorer ticks that box. Let's build not destroy. He had a goal drought, but even the best strikers do. Ulloa has had a great first season and we would probably have been relegated without him. I don't see any truth to this story. The media seem to think if any team want our players they just have to bid for them. Pearson doesn't sell players unless they are no longer in his plans. I don't think he would stand in the way of a player going to the big 4. I can't see any of our regular players leaving to go to the likes of Palace or WBA. It wont be the last story like this before the window closes.
Swiper Posted 1 June 2015 Posted 1 June 2015 Aside from his goals, he's also huge value on the defensive end. Especially against set-pieces. I'd be hesitant to sell unless the buyer is breaking the bank for him, which I doubt will happen.
South Shire Fox Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 If we are using history as the sole basis for deciding who is a big club then Forest are bigger then Leicester (they're not) and Preston are one of the biggest clubs in the country (they're not). I think if you asked football fans from around the country the vast majority would say Forest are bigger then us..
MPH Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 I think if you asked football fans from around the country the vast majority would say Forest are bigger then us.. They may of said that 20 years ago....

Lambert09 Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 He could have scored half as many goals and I still wouldnt want him to go. He's a beast at defending set plays, we look so much weaker in that area without him on the pitch
4everfox Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 I think if you asked football fans from around the country the vast majority would say Forest are bigger then us.. No. They really wouldn't. The only thing bigger about Forest is their trophy cabinet which has collected a lot of dust over the last 20 years. Stadium? No. Fanbase? No. Training and youth facilities? No. As a matter of fact everything about Leicester apart from a dusty trophy cabinet is bigger then Forest. We are at least equal, probably bigger.

Rose tinted glasses, forest have a larger fan base then we do. Hard to say but its true
4everfox Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 Rose tinted glasses, forest have a larger fan base then we do. Hard to say but its true No they don't, hence why our stadium is bigger. Leicester is a bigger city, a one club city.
ScouseFox Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 Rose tinted glasses, forest have a larger fan base then we do. Hard to say but its true Nobody below the age of 20 has even heard of Nottingham forest
Robin JD Popley Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 Nobody below the age of 20 has even heard of Nottingham forest Nor wants to...
Sooper Steve's shin Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 Realistically, I can't see Leo going anywhere. The club put a lot of effort into getting him last summer, showed faith and he finished the season top scorer for us with a very respectable haul. I don't think we'd let him go to teams around us, not sure he would want to - maybe if a genuine step up like a Southampton or Everton came along then he would be interested. But given his value can only have increased and we'd need to get a very good replacement to fill the gap (Wood is not the answer, our other strikers don't play like he does), I am sure we'd only be interested in talking north of 15million and perhaps closer to 20.
Spiritwalker Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 Rose tinted glasses, forest have a larger fan base then we do. Hard to say but its true How many times over the 10 years have they had better attendances than us?
Foxymcoxy Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 I think if you asked football fans from around the country the vast majority would say Forest are bigger then us.. Think you are right actually. Forest have somehow convinced the world that a couple of years success constitutes "massive history". To be fair they were a decent couple of years and wish we had had them instead. Nobody is bothered enough to actually support them though.
artursteppe Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 I think if you asked football fans from around the country the vast majority would say Forest are bigger then us.. Just because the vast majority of people might say Forest are bigger than Leicester, it does not make it right. 'Truth' is not defined by democratic vote!
cc_star Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 Pay £8m for a championship striker. Make him a Prem goalscorer. Price would have to be £16 - 20m for a sale. I think he's only going to get better next year. That's about the size of it. Immense at set-pieces defensively too, something that shouldn't be overlooked
AKCJ Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 That's about the size of it. Immense at set-pieces defensively too, something that shouldn't be overlooked I'd say he's the best in the division at it.
Guest Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 Goal saving at times particularly in his "goal drought" period.
Kitchandro Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 Rose tinted glasses, forest have a larger fan base then we do. Hard to say but its true what? I think you need to check the attendances over the past few years.
VLC86 Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 what? I think you need to check the attendances over the past few years. Newcastle averaged more than Inter Milan this season, what's your point?
dbtcity Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 I would honestly rather any of our strikers went bar vardy before Ulloa
4everfox Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 Newcastle averaged more than Inter Milan this season, what's your point? I'd imagine the point is that Leicester have an equal or greater fan base then Forest. Comparing Newcastle to Inter Milan is irrelevant in that case.

But it's not irrelevant though is it? Comparing who has the greater fan base purely based on attendance figures over the course of a season is hardly an exact science.
