4everfox Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 But it's not irrelevant though is it? Comparing who has the greater fan base purely based on attendance figures over the course of a season is hardly an exact science. Newcastle are based in an entirely different country to Inter Milan though. There will be a lot of differences to take into account before being able to accurately compare the two clubs. For instance, football is more popular in England then it is in Italy. I'm not arguing that Newcastle have a greater fan base then Inter Milan though because I would be pretty sure that they haven't. The original argument was about the fan bases of Leicester and Forest in which there is a strong case to suggest that we at least equal them on that.

Which backs up my whole argument, you can't just say a team has a bigger fan base purely based on attendance. Ps, you must be mad if you think football is bigger here that it is in Italy.

Ps, you must be mad if you think football is bigger here that it is in Italy. Once again I'll reiterate that my original point was regarding the comparison of the fan bases between Leicester and Forest, which is entirely justifiable to speculate upon. You brought up the Inter Milan / Newcastle argument which is insane when comparing the two arguments. Inter Milan are a European giant with a fan base that probably stretches over the continent, Newcastle are a pretty huge club domestically but fairly small in terms of international recognition. Leicester or Forest are neither of the above, just fairly big clubs domestically. That's it. Speculating on fan base size difference between Leicester and Forest is hardly as ridiculous as the comparison you made.
Munshi Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 Scored 13 in his first season in the Premier League and first season with us. He'll only get better next season with the experience of last and I reckon he could get 20.

Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 He won't get 20; I'd expect him to get around the same, just into double figures in the league with a cup goal or two thrown in (not that I think that's a bad return at all).
lgfualol Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 Not sure how many he gets. I imagine our other strikers will up their games and goals will be more shared out.
Stadt Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 Nobody below the age of 20 has even heard of Nottingham forest who
ScouseFox Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 13 goals is 1 in 3 which is pretty good for someone at our level, so guessing he'll target 13 once more, but would like him to spread them out a little more. Like a few goals per month or something, not 5 in 5 then 1 in 20 then 5 in 5 again.
Fox in the Forest Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 I'm from Anstey, but live in Kirkby in Ashfield near Mansfield (hence "Fox in the Forest"!) Working with and knowing plenty of Forest fans, the feeling i get is that they are now getting a little embarrased about living off thier 1970's European glories and are looking at Leicester as everything that they wish they were. There's a kind of quiet resignation that they are indeed shit; and at the same time, currently the "smallest" of the 3 big East Midlands teams. Nottingham is obviously the largest and most economically prosperous city in the East Midlands: they should have the largest fanbase, and once they probably did. But shit teams lose thier support, as has clearly happened. Hard not to laugh in some ways after the abuse i've suffered from them over the years!

Webbo Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 Are you sure Nottingham is bigger than Leicester? The actual city of Nottingham is slightly smaller but the conurbation of Nottingham is far bigger than the conurbation of Leicester.
Dan Posted 3 June 2015 Posted 3 June 2015 I do like Ulloa but he won't bag 20 goals next year. Quality finisher though. That goal against QPR looks better every time you see it. Serious goalscorer instinct there.
sylofox Posted 3 June 2015 Posted 3 June 2015 Is he not a mate of Mr Random silly at talk sport. Probably Got it from Brazil one morning when he was plastered.

Guest Posted 19 June 2015 Posted 19 June 2015 Interesting to see how the forwards are used next season.. looks like Kramaric Ulloa Nugent and Vardy will all still be here. Hope they carry on with attacking formations that worked well at the back end of the season.

This isn't entirely true.Leicester's 2013 population estimate is 331,606..Nottingham is 308,735. Leicester is clearly the bigger city now although it wasn't 25 years ago.

Hope they carry on with attacking formations that worked well at the back end of the season. Looks like they will be our choice of attackers next season as the Okazaki rumour has gone quiet. Add Mahrez to that to play in the hole and we have got some good options, lets not forget that we create plenty of chances. Add a season of Premier League experience to that and we have got a pretty formidable attack. Kramaric will come good next season, Vardy will improve, Ulloa will improve, Nugent will probably stall but he's fourth choice anyway.

I don't see any way that he misses some of the chances he had in 14/15 and he was in good form before his injury. With similar minutes this season, I see no reason for him not have something like 8-10 goals and 4-6 assists. I'm sure he's going to be motivated now that he's been bumped further down the depth chart. Even if he stays as 4th choice striker and 2nd choice in the hole, that's a pretty damn good 4th guy. I'm excited to see AK with a full pre-season under his belt.
