Thracian Posted 3 September 2005 Posted 3 September 2005 Well this is my 1000th posting in the few week's I've been on this site and I can't think of anything better than to use it to record my appreciation of you people. I've called the thread Minor 1000 cos, while it is a milestone for me it is no achievement at all alongside those of you who have posted 5000 comments and more. Regulars will know that this has not been an easy time for me with having my wife so ill. So I would like you to know that ALL of you have provided a much-needed distraction, a focus of interest, the chance to debate the day-to-day goings on at our beloved football club, the occasional stress-freeing arguments and so on. But, most of all you have coloured my life with your humour, your endless input of facts I was unaware of, the mischievous and light-hearted banter, the cartoons and comic pictures you dig up from time to time and the humanity you have shown to so many people on this thread and in regard to so many subjects. I know none of you personally yet feel I have made many valuable friendships - plus respected acquaintances who have provided me with insights into subjects from a different angle to my own which have hopefully added to my understanding. Thanks to all of you. You have made a lasting and entirely positive impression on my life. Thanks also to the forum instigators and operators who have made it all possible. I hope the site grows ever stronger, that it continues to be a force for good in respect of Leicester City Football Club and that City swiftly return to the pinnacle of British football, The Premiership, so we can fly our internet flags with a pride that will be noticed right around the World. I wish you all good health, happy days and the fulfilment of all your dreams.

Your Moggy Minor reminded me that I used to own one of these in the 70's - a Green Convertible - and when I left to play squash in Switzerland I gave it to my sister with the one proviso that she didn't sell it (cos it was a classic of the future). Anyway, when I returned some months later, the car had gone and she explained that the brakes had failed and being non-mechanical and skint, she had sold my pride and joy for about £60. To this day she still covers her eyes whenever we pass one on the road together!

Before anyone asks, this is a general point, NOT a personal dig at Thracian. Posts should be judged on their quality and content, not their number. Just because someone has the time to post 5000 times does NOT give their views more merit than someone posting for the first time!
