Webbo Posted 24 November 2015 Posted 24 November 2015 Lapdancing???? Believe me the money's not that good. I can barely feed the family.
Dr The Singh Posted 24 November 2015 Posted 24 November 2015 If a GP is earning that much per year they must be running damn good practices given they are remunerated based on the results they achieve. They are businessmen, clinicians and administrators of the NHS and the overwhelming majority are not on 6 figure salaries. In any case, GPs and consultants have nought to do with this debate given that they're employed under a different contract. There aren't junior doctors earning that sort of private income. And even if they were, that wouldnt be coming out of the public purse anyway! My wife works for a private hospital, its fair to say consultants make alot from that sector aswell as doing there NHS shit. The issue here is the junior doctors, having worked in another sector, the junior doctors have to accept that the bitch will pay out alot later. Having worked in another area, I have also had to accept my workin g practice's have changed, I get no overtime, and I work shit loads of hours and have to perform. I would like to think there would be middle ground as I believe junior doctors need the capacity to there jobs without risking patient care

Bryn Posted 24 November 2015 Posted 24 November 2015 But what relevance does that have to anything? That's private income, it's got nothing to do with the NHS funding and nothing to do with us working more hours for less pay in unsafe conditions.

And even if they were, that wouldnt be coming out of the public purse anyway! My GP earns over 200k. Because the system is based on number of signed up patients. If yor r in westcotes, Britain street surgery, and green lane road etc, its easy to see. How much per patient signed to you does the government pay. I know this fact, cus the previous owner of the surgery is a mate of my dads.

My mrs worked for both nhs and private, consultants have NHS practice's over a barrel to supplement private practice's, your full.of shit mate, you make it sounds as though there is no avenue for cash, my Mrs experience says, get experience your foooking getting whatever cash you like
Bryn Posted 24 November 2015 Posted 24 November 2015 I haven't said anything like what you've just said.
Dr The Singh Posted 24 November 2015 Posted 24 November 2015 I haven't said anything like what you've just said.Youve implied it
Bryn Posted 24 November 2015 Posted 24 November 2015 And nothing you've said has demonstrated it's relevance to the subject at hand.
Dr The Singh Posted 24 November 2015 Posted 24 November 2015 And nothing you've said has demonstrated it's relevance to the subject at hand.Explain
Bryn Posted 24 November 2015 Posted 24 November 2015 No I haven't. My pay is adequate, I'm happy with my pay, I do not wish for more pay, private consultant income has nothing to do with my working conditions and no relevance to the current strike.
Bryn Posted 24 November 2015 Posted 24 November 2015 I don't really know what point you're trying to make, I'm sorry you feel that way but it's genuinely not relevant to the strike so I suggest if you feel strongly to take it up with your local MP.
Dr The Singh Posted 24 November 2015 Posted 24 November 2015 The fact is clear, do your probation and earn decent shit. Otherwise there would be more doctors, gp's, consultants here. Infact the NHS is being bullied by such qualified staff. There private surgeries on NHS property is well established, and private practice's in private hospitals is a well known process. This is the real world, every individual that is learning there trade goes through hardship, once they are experts theiney comes. My point is, going on strike etc and moaning, isn't the answer, they will get there hard earned cash later. If its due to patient safety, which this isn't then that is a different matter

Charl91 Posted 24 November 2015 Posted 24 November 2015 I would hope doctors would be well paid. Do we really want Doctors who aren't well paid? J. Hunt seems to be the Michael Gove of the medicinal world. His negotiation stance is ridiculous, and it pisses me off how he's tried to spin this "pay rise" which is effectively a pay-cut for all. You have my sympathy.
The Doctor Posted 24 November 2015 Posted 24 November 2015 Why are people talking about how doctor earn enough as it is by referencing gps and consultants rather than junior doctors (who are the ones striking) when it's been made clear that it's to about the pay but rather the slandering hunt has been doing and the daft changes to conditions being made as a result, with the contracts being in effect non-negotiable? I dare say either there's some ideological hatred of the NHS or there are people who hate their jobs and are faintly jealous of a group prepared and able to stand up for themselves over their work

You have my sympathy. Once at a certain level they bully the NHS, otherwise these fookers would fook.off. God knows how many consultants Ive drank with and had this debate, they run the show
Dr The Singh Posted 24 November 2015 Posted 24 November 2015 Nurses get the worst treatment, although we have shortages, they still lack a bargaining chip. To be fair if that strikes, I would support them Foreign nurses and doctors add risk
Dr The Singh Posted 24 November 2015 Posted 24 November 2015 People also forgot how much cost and effort is put into training these fookers, all the support services and planning to make it happen. These fookers forget its a two way thing.
Bryn Posted 24 November 2015 Posted 24 November 2015 All the more reason to protect the investment, surely? False economy to spend thousands on something just to break it.
Webbo Posted 25 November 2015 Posted 25 November 2015 If doctors already work these hours how are the changes going to affect patients?
