Injury updates

Our fitness and stamina this season is unreal, the lack of injuries (compared to other teams) is definitely down to our brilliant backroom staff and how well the pitch is maintained, we have certainly stepped up a few notches this season...

Up the City.....

Yeah, have you seen his jawline? It's dreamy

I wondered who the first comedy genius might be.

You don't win a prize.

:(

He's out for too many yellows though ain't he?

Ah, thanks - I saw the posts seeing he couldn't play but thought I'd missed an injury.

Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri provided an update on the fitness of midfield duo Danny Drinkwater and Matty James ahead of the Boxing Day clash with Liverpool at Anfield.

Top of the Barclays Premier League table, the Foxes head to Merseyside for the second time in seven days after beating Everton at Goodison Park 3-2 last weekend.

While James continues his recovery from a knee problem and defender Ritchie De Laet remains out with his ankle injury, Drinkwater is also set to be rested by Ranieri for the clash with Liverpool.

Meanwhile, the City boss will be boosted by the return of centre back Robert Huth, who is available for selection having missed out against Everton due to suspension.

“Drinkwater is getting better but at the moment I don’t want to risk him because he’s good,” Ranieri said. “[Andy] King played very well and Robert Huth will come back, he’s ready. Everybody is okay.

"He’s [Matty James] getting better and I think soon as possible he will start to play, of course with the Under-21s.”

While 15-goal Jamie Vardy has been an ever-present for the Foxes in the Premier League this campaign, strikers Shinji Okazaki and Leonardo Ulloa have often been interchanged by Ranieri, but this does not upset the balance of the side, according to the City boss.

Ranieri added: “I have good strikers and I change and nothing changes. They’re different players – Ulloa and Okazaki.

“But when they play the team is the same. Of course each player gives me the opportunity to make something different.”

Any news on vardy?

I think he's fine, isn't he? He was pictured crouching in that photo of the team after the last match. I'm sure we would have heard if he was a doubt.

Don't know why but I have a feeling about JV. seems to have been very little discussion about his fitness by Claudio (unless I missed any Q and A about it)

perhaps the manager will see avoiding a defeat to citeh as being of more importance than a win at anfield. of course, the latter is still possible without him.

Expecting him to perform at his typical high tempo twice in 77 hours maybe a lot after recent exploits.

Expecting him to be rested early in the 2nd half if we're winning. Or if we're heading for a draw and looks like liverpool are going to park the bus anyway.

Don't be surprised if he gets booked against Man City. :xmascool:

Why? If he avoids a booking in the next two games, the amnesty kicks in until he reaches 10.

Can't see an advantage in being booked against citeh
