mikey54 Posted 30 November 2015 Posted 30 November 2015 Have we been lucky so far this season with injuries or do we put it down to the fitness clinic/training. As far as I can recall we have only had 2 minor cases - Mahrez and Dyer. Vardy has had minor injury problems but has played every game. Compare this to Arsenal, Man City, Liverpool and a few other teams.
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 30 November 2015 Posted 30 November 2015 Vardy's taken the team's share of injuries but he just has a sip of Lucozade and gets on with it.
Babylon Posted 30 November 2015 Posted 30 November 2015 Touch wood we have very few muscle injuries, which will definitely come from good conditioning and player management. Most seem to be impact injuries, which there isn't much you can do about.
johnny the fox Posted 30 November 2015 Posted 30 November 2015 Three good reasons ... not too many fixtures, you tend to get more injuries when playing desperate football... think the great homework done by our staff has ensured we don't sign sick notes, carroll and sturridge sound good on paper but are cars that never get out of the garage..
stevelcfc Posted 30 November 2015 Posted 30 November 2015 I put it down to the great work Matt Reeves and his amazing team do.
Xen Posted 30 November 2015 Posted 30 November 2015 Aren't we the only team in the country with a cryotherapy chamber installed at our own ground? Other teams use the same thing but it's only us who actually splashed out on our own. The players have mentioned it quite a few times in interviews. Vardy brought it up the other week when asked about his numerous ailments, and Simpson I think said that it may just be psychological, but all the players swear by it for any injuries.

I had this horrible muscle injury once that just wouldn't go away, was having trouble lifting anything so I read up on it and showered it with cooooold water for 10 minutes and it just vanished. Probably a similar effect
EnglishOxide Posted 30 November 2015 Posted 30 November 2015 Our injury record over the past 3 or 4 years is too good for us to just be classed lucky with them. The backroom staff are top class.
Len Finsbury Posted 30 November 2015 Posted 30 November 2015 We're definitely doing something right to avoid these niggley injuries that so many clubs suffer with. Injuries like James' can't be avoided but hamstring strains caused by training seem to be a thing of the past.
filbertway Posted 30 November 2015 Posted 30 November 2015 I wonder how Hammond's ankle would have held up with this backroom staff.
Thracian Posted 1 December 2015 Posted 1 December 2015 I wonder how Hammond's ankle would have held up with this backroom staff. I wonder how Hammond's ankle would have held up with this backroom staff. Surely the club's most famous "ankle".
Countryfox Posted 1 December 2015 Posted 1 December 2015 I put it down to the great work Matt Reeves and his amazing team do. Most definitely the 12th man.
NewEnglandFox Posted 1 December 2015 Posted 1 December 2015 Apparently we're the second least injured team. Not sure what the criterion is on this one. Only Swansea is less injury prone. http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/swansea-citys-players-best-record-10526834 The only injured player on our team is Matty James and I think it's weird to count that against us considering it happened last season and we all knew full well that we'd be without him until at least Christmas. Dyer and Ulloa are the only people I can think of this year that missed games with injury.
Thracian Posted 1 December 2015 Posted 1 December 2015 Swansea's players can chill their wounds in the sea - it's usually perishing in winter.

urban.spaceman Posted 1 December 2015 Posted 1 December 2015 Technically Dyer's a Swansea player so his figures should be taken off us and added to theirs.... Arguably. Either way, our medical staff are brilliant. Don't Swansea have sleep pods at their training ground?
SpacedX Posted 1 December 2015 Posted 1 December 2015 Don't Swansea have sleep pods at their training ground? No, that's the Baggies who since the arrival of Pulis installed them in the stands to enhance the match day experience.

Captain... Posted 3 December 2015 Posted 3 December 2015 http://imgur.com/a/Pv3Ot Thought it might be of interest.... Wow, one soft tissue injury, that just shows how much effort we put in to ensure everything possible is done to protect our players. You can't do anything about an impact injury on the pitch, but injuries through failing to warm up and prepare properly are criminal.
davieG Posted 16 December 2015 Posted 16 December 2015 Ranieri has suffered one slice of misfortune, however, after it emerged defender Jeff Schlupp has torn his hamstring and could miss the next two months. Schlupp picked up the injury in training on Saturday and is on crutches, with Ranieri writing him out of his plans for a minimum of six weeks. The Ghana international’s injury means Leicester will recall highly-rated left-back Ben Chilwell, who has been impressing on loan at Huddersfield. Chilwell has been scouted by Arsenal and Liverpool in recent weeks and will return to the King Power Stadium at the start of January, as back-up for Christian Fuchs. Danny Drinkwater, the midfielder, has also suffered a hamstring problem but it is not believed to be as serious.
filbertstreet Posted 16 December 2015 Posted 16 December 2015 Ah bollocks, well welcome back Benny Jr

I don't think Schlupp will be missed too much and would be good to get Chilwell back, put him in the team against spurs in the cup and then send him back out on loan if we go out. Drinkwater will probably be back early / mid Jan hopefully then.
AKCJ Posted 16 December 2015 Posted 16 December 2015 Shame Chilly has to come back, sounded like he was getting on alright at Huddersfield. Good job we've signed Fuchs. The paper I was reading the other day described him as world class and, on current form, it's difficult to argue!!
