tyfox Posted 5 December 2015 Posted 5 December 2015 So my 14year old son has supported lcfc with me since the day he was born and has been to many games and had the usual ups and downs of any leicester supporter. We look at the league constantly and regardless to where we finish he will remember this year fondly for the rest of his life. These are the great memories football brings to people and im proud to be a leicester fan through and through. Please share your great memories and how our great club has brought people together
The Quick Brown Fox Posted 5 December 2015 Posted 5 December 2015 I rememeber being at Charlton away for a FA cup game a few years back (first away game with my dad). 1-1 with a couple of mins to go and my dad says lets go or we'll miss the bus. As we reach the top of the stairs we get a corner from which Dion Dublin scores the winner and we've gone crazy. I've never left or started to leave a game early since.

Vlad the Fox Posted 5 December 2015 Posted 5 December 2015 I remember telling the panicking bloke stood next to me that Kalec wouldn't be needed as he replaced Poole at Wembley. 20 seconds later he'd got hold of me screaming 'you're right, you're right' in my face.
Great Boos Up Posted 5 December 2015 Posted 5 December 2015 My best man and I both became new dads and hadn't seen each other for over a year. We arranged a day out at an away match and actually held hands during the final whistle at Stoke 2008. You can't buy what we are both feeling right now.
egg_fried_rice Posted 5 December 2015 Posted 5 December 2015 I don't remember what game it was, but it was during one of our successful cup runs under MON when I was around 10 years old, I distinctly remember my dad turning to me after we'd just scored and rather seriously saying to me 'it's not always this good you know!'. Tempering the expectations of a 10 year old :: At the time I rolled my eyes as I was simply enjoying the moment, but it was one thing that stuck with me through the relegations, league 1, and part of what allows me to enjoy the good times now, regardless of what might happen in the future.
urban.spaceman Posted 5 December 2015 Posted 5 December 2015 vs Atheltico Madrid at Filbert Street 1997. Lost 2-0. Didn't deserve to lose, and had about 5 blatant penalties turned down, 3 from Muzzy Izzet alone. Garry Parker was sent off with a second yellow for taking a free kick too quickly. Worst referee I have even seen (Remi Harrel was later fined and banned by UEFA). Madrid had sent back 800 tickets so we'd queued up from 6am, managed to get seats in the East Stand right next to the Kop. The atmosphere was just phenomenal. Haven't heard anything like before or since. The Kop never shut up and the East Stand, while never quiet anyway, was ear-piercing when we joined in. My dad's overriding memory during a rare quiet moment is a 12 year old me shouting "the referee's a willy puller". That whole night - truly unforgettable. vs Manchester United at Filbert Street 2001. Lost 1-0 Unremarkable game, we'd needed to have won it to have a chance of staying up in our last season at Filbert Street but Man Utd were too good for us. 85th minute though, relegation pretty much certain, the someone started singing "Stand up if you love Leicester", and everyone did. Every. Single. Person. Even in the Carling Stand, which was traditionally sterile. 18,000 City fans signing and standing in unison, declaring their unending love for Leicester City despite our relegation. Then the singing stopped, and everyone remained standing for the remainder of the game in an eerie silence while the game concluded. That was just beautiful, and moment I will never forget. vs Manchester United at King Power 2014. Won 5-3 Couldn't get to the game, so went to a pub a few villages away (which will remain nameless as their method for getting the game isn't strictly kosher). Bumped into an old friend of mine, a Man U fan who had been the standard arrogant glory hunter we all know for the last 25 years I've known him. I'd been having a horrible year - a family member had just passed away after a long terminal illness so I'd been very low for a very long time. This game lifted me out of such a horrid place! When Vardy scored there was just absolute pandemonium in the pub - drinks flying everywhere, chairs and tables being knocked over, strangers and friends all cheering together in utter disbelief - but my favourite thing was probably just the look on the face of my mate. Simply priceless. vs Palace at Wembley, Play-off Final 1996. Won 2-1 11 years old. Steve Claridge, last minute goal. First time I went to Wembley. I will never, ever forget the pandemonium when that goal went in. It had been on ITV so we'd recorded it to watch when we got home. Still got the VHS. (Still got the DVD I copied it to. Still got the last 10 minutes on my YouTube channel) I watched that video every morning that summer - even to this day I can still recite the commentary. That game was childhood defining.
Vlad the Fox Posted 5 December 2015 Posted 5 December 2015 Also that night we beat Wimbledon at selhurts park in the cup semi in front of over 8000 boisterous City fans. I can feel the tension now as they threw everything at us in the dying minutes of extra as we defended from the six yard box, City fans trying to punch vinny jones as he backed into the fans for a another long throw, Wimbledon players diving and trying to punch the ball into the net as we belted out que sera sera and wemberleeeeee wemberleeeeee. Followed up by getting stranded in London as the Leicester train had gone, so we broke into the morning train already on the platform and slept in first class.
Vlad the Fox Posted 5 December 2015 Posted 5 December 2015 I've still got the Derby play of game on vhs with 'silence of the rams' written on the side.
bovril Posted 5 December 2015 Posted 5 December 2015 I remember telling the panicking bloke stood next to me that Kalec wouldn't be needed as he replaced Poole at Wembley. 20 seconds later he'd got hold of me screaming 'you're right, you're right' in my face. This was only my fourth Leicester game. I remember very little of the game, just vague snippets of memories of being hugged by random fat blokes. My Dad has quite a few photos of the crowd including just after the 'shin', he was a professional photographer and an old Spurs fan so his first instinct was to shoot the reactions rather than celebrate. I'll try and scan and upload a couple. Also that night we beat Wimbledon at selhurts park in the cup semi in front of over 8000 boisterous City fans. I remember listening to this, huddled round a radio in my kitchen with my whole family. I think I treasure that game even more than the replayed final.

Felt like a home game. Must have been more than 8000 of us. Seemed like double that at the time!
Izzy Posted 5 December 2015 Posted 5 December 2015 Tony James against Oxford when I was a wee snippet, and my one and only pitch invasion after! Almost felt better at the time than winning promotion, in a bizarre sort of way. My one and only time on the pitch too!
