Bluecityfox Posted 27 December 2015 Posted 27 December 2015 Having attended the last two away games, what are people's thoughts on the fan parks provided by Everton and Liverpool? Personally, I thought they were very good; having travelled up on fox travel on both occasions they provided very easy access to a couple of beers before the game in a reasonable atmosphere. It would have been better if they had been showing the live game on the big screen before the match (there must be a reason why they can't do this). Is it something the King Power could benefit from?

Leicester Lass Posted 27 December 2015 Posted 27 December 2015 True, they are looking into it. Main problem is it would take up a lot of car parking spaces, and we're already short on them.
Fox92 Posted 27 December 2015 Posted 27 December 2015 They were good, very welcoming (although I didn't go to Liverpool this year but went last season). West Brom's has been the best. Each fan park I've been too have been welcoming though.

What about all that space next to the ground? (I'm sure it's for sale). It is literally wasteland. Could even be a car park.
ScouseFox Posted 27 December 2015 Posted 27 December 2015 rather just go the pub. at away games i get it (kinda). especially with liverpool and everton not really being walkable from town. at city you could get a very nice drink in a very nice pub, watch the early kick off and walk down to the ground pretty comfortably from the station or from wherever you live/park for games.
kyleolly Posted 27 December 2015 Posted 27 December 2015 I thought they'd announced they were having one on raw dykes road next to eon!

It is for sale - problem is the land owners know that the football club are interested so price is the biggest problem, they want way over the odds for it.

DJ Barry Hammond Posted 28 December 2015 Posted 28 December 2015 Morrisons is the best fan park you can get!
pleatout Posted 28 December 2015 Posted 28 December 2015 True, they are looking into it. Main problem is it would take up a lot of car parking spaces, and we're already short on them. I'd argue with that. The car park across the road, next to the Citroen showroom hasn't been full all season.
davieG Posted 28 December 2015 Posted 28 December 2015 I'd argue with that. The car park across the road, next to the Citroen showroom hasn't been full all season. It's not whether it's full it's whether the council will give permission for us to lose parking spaces when we never complied with their travel plans from when the stadium was built, this will also be the biggest obstacle to any expansion.
Wymsey Posted 28 December 2015 Posted 28 December 2015 Would be a health and safety nightmare. Drivers would have to take extra caution to avoid people. Also, extra traffic people/security and a large area would be required for such a thing to happen.
Wymsey Posted 28 December 2015 Posted 28 December 2015 I thought it was sold in October via sealed bids Heard this as well. What I heard is that the empty area is set to be either student accommodation or private flats.
