EnderbyFox Posted 28 December 2015 Posted 28 December 2015 Stones is a decent enough player but way over hyped imo. £50m is laughable. Can't stand how commentators jizz every time he moves more than 5 yards with the ball at his feet "Ooooh look how good he is with the ball, so much class for an English CB"
Fox92 Posted 28 December 2015 Posted 28 December 2015 Just watching MOTD, that tackle by Stones wasn't a penalty.
SystonFox Posted 28 December 2015 Posted 28 December 2015 it was for me also. regardless whether he taps the ball with his feather touch baby toe he took down the player after. he went through. pen ALL DAY
Dan Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 Stones is a decent enough player but way over hyped imo. £50m is laughable. Can't stand how commentators jizz every time he moves more than 5 yards with the ball at his feet "Ooooh look how good he is with the ball, so much class for an English CB" It sums up the standard of English players that there's over-hyping because we have a composed centre half.
Harry - LCFC Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 it was for me also. regardless whether he taps the ball with his feather touch baby toe he took down the player after. he went through. pen ALL DAY Many fair slide tackles involve making contact with the opponent after winning the ball. It's something that can't be helped which is why it isn't considered a foul. If you're going to make the argument that Stones' tackle was a foul because he brought the player down the we're going to have to ban most slide tackles. It's the amount of contact the player gets on the ball that matters most. I think he did just enough but it was close and I'm still not entirely convinced.
