Vindaloo FOX Posted 9 January 2016 Posted 9 January 2016 the best I have seen in the Prem I would say Shearer, RVN, Henry, Cole .
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 9 January 2016 Posted 9 January 2016 Best natural finisher? It's a tough one because it's such a broad subject with so many niches and performers. Personally I'd go with Kieran Lee or Danny Mountain. Didn't have you down as a pornographer Col so fair play.
AyewJoking Posted 9 January 2016 Posted 9 January 2016 Being very young and impressionable watching Torres at the peak of his powers was amazing, he'd burst clear and finish almost every time, I wanted to be Torres no need to make excuses, Torres was once the best striker in the game.
Bayfox Posted 10 January 2016 Posted 10 January 2016 Gabriel Batistuta, purely on finishing. Great shout.
Collymore Posted 11 January 2016 Posted 11 January 2016 Leon Crncic We never actually saw him anywhere, let alone playing!
enmac Posted 12 January 2016 Posted 12 January 2016 My grandad would have said Tom Finney. Bill shankly was once asked if you could buy any player from any era and he replied unhesitatingly Finney. I recall being told by my Grandad how the ball came to Finney just outside the area and the next thing he heard was the swish of the net! My dad would say Greaves for all the reasons mentioned earlier. For me Lineker. Made the most of any inch of space and a great and intelligent finisher. Plus he scored under tremendous pressure at the highest level. The goals during Italia 90 against Cameroon and Germany showed finishing of the highest class at the highest level with the highest of stakes. Don't think he scored against us though for Everton or Spurs. Also loved Gerd muller as a finisher but only saw him on the telly and can't recall him playing at Filbert Street! Like you, I never saw Finney play, but my great-uncle said that Matthews wasn't fit to clean his boots! For City- for a brief time Chris Garland. From my very young days- Jackie Sinclair scored many spectacular goals playing on the wing. Fowler was good. Law, Best, Greaves- all great, but they never did it when I was watching. Leon Crncic, DJ Campbell. Back in the real world, Le Tiss scored some extraordinary goals which just seemed so natural but I'd probably go for Michael Owen when he was at his absolute peak 1998-2001 time.
enmac Posted 12 January 2016 Posted 12 January 2016 Would have liked to have seen him Thanks! Most I've seen of AR! If only every game was televised back in ancient times!
spudungeyee Posted 12 January 2016 Posted 12 January 2016 Got to be a shout for Ruud Van Nistellrooy, he was lethal anywhere near the box.
