Donut Posted 6 January 2016 Posted 6 January 2016 Against us, Van Nistelrooy without a shadow of a doubt
fuchsntf Posted 6 January 2016 Posted 6 January 2016 Shows peoples ages but past it Jimmy Greaves was different gravy so must have been deadly in his prime , also think people possibly have a different view to a natural finisher or just someone who scores a few goals. Greavsie, and Dennis Law, cant be bettered..end of. And, ffs And..!!! Col asked 'who scored against us. Not too sure if Shearer did.
Fox92 Posted 6 January 2016 Posted 6 January 2016 For those old enough I imagine Lineker is up there. One of England's greatest strikers, if not the best.
Soar Fox Posted 6 January 2016 Posted 6 January 2016 Greavsie, and Dennis Law, cant be bettered..end of. And, ffs And..!!! Col asked 'who scored against us. Not too sure if Shearer did. Not sure if Shearer did Have a look at his hat-trick he got against us in 4-3 loss.
Nickfosse Posted 6 January 2016 Posted 6 January 2016 My grandad would have said Tom Finney. Bill shankly was once asked if you could buy any player from any era and he replied unhesitatingly Finney. I recall being told by my Grandad how the ball came to Finney just outside the area and the next thing he heard was the swish of the net! My dad would say Greaves for all the reasons mentioned earlier. For me Lineker. Made the most of any inch of space and a great and intelligent finisher. Plus he scored under tremendous pressure at the highest level. The goals during Italia 90 against Cameroon and Germany showed finishing of the highest class at the highest level with the highest of stakes. Don't think he scored against us though for Everton or Spurs. Also loved Gerd muller as a finisher but only saw him on the telly and can't recall him playing at Filbert Street!
EastAnglianFox Posted 7 January 2016 Posted 7 January 2016 Steve Bull I swear never seemed to miss when he played us
Bayfox Posted 7 January 2016 Posted 7 January 2016 Natural finisher and Andy Cole has been mentioned several times. He used to miss about 7 chances a game. Pure natural ability to find the next inside the 18 yard box. Robbie fowler all day long for me. RVN was decent too, but I felt in his prime he had a bit more to his game than fowler he just had that knack of finding the next if the ball dropped to him.
MPH Posted 7 January 2016 Posted 7 January 2016 Jason Scotland Football manager games don't count as 'live'
Leicesterfan Cambiasso Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 Yakubu is the best finisher I've seen play for Leicester but I'm fairly young.
Guest Col city fan Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 Yakubu is the best finisher I've seen play for Leicester but I'm fairly young. Good shout young man. Really good finisher whoever he played for.
fuchsntf Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 Not sure if Shearer did Have a look at his hat-trick he got against us in 4-3 loss. Doo aa hhhh, I saw the game as well, totally forgot it...How I forgot, must of had a great night, no 1000 great nights, or its my medication, and my wifes demands confuse me... Now I have to add him to list, top finisher, top player, unlike some, I like him on MOTD, dont always agree... Could be I cant remember if I hate him....
Benguin Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 When you look at Arsenals past strikers they've had some belters haven't they. Henry, wright, bergkamp, van Persie to name a few!
sdb Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 Surely original Ronaldo or Romario?! Not that i've seen them live but they were lethal. In the flesh maybe Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Raj Posted 9 January 2016 Posted 9 January 2016 Bergkamp @ filbo was pretty sensational. Klinsmann,Fowler too were quality!
Dan Posted 9 January 2016 Posted 9 January 2016 Yakubu probably was the best I've seen for Leicester actually. Vardy's giving him a real run for his money but you could just tell Yakubu generally meant goals.
The Blur Posted 9 January 2016 Posted 9 January 2016 Yakubu probably was the best I've seen for Leicester actually. Vardy's giving him a real run for his money but you could just tell Yakubu generally meant goals. I will have to disagree with that, I won't really call Vardy an exceptional finisher. It is all about Henry for the sheer artistry of his finishes or Shearer as he is an all around finisher- great in the box, outside of the box and with his head.
