Contactless card payments are now available in the concourses at King Power Stadium!
That's right! Whether it’s a pre-match pie and beer or a half-time snack, you can now pay using your card at any of the main kiosks around King Power Stadium.

Contactless payments are available for transactions up to £30 in the kiosks, so if you find yourself short of cash, fear not - that pie is just a press of your card away!

Now they just need to offer payday loans to buy the bloody food in the first place.

Finance. I would actually buy my 5.50 double cheese burger over 52 weeks if they offered terms just for a laugh. Can you imagine

I bought a burger for my son before the Watford match from the main kiosk in P2. The bread was as hard as a brick. If the match hasn't have started I would have complained. The burger was barely edible either. Not bought once since and wouldn't again. Awful.

Stuff about fast food joints.

People are moaning about quality and you're suggesting getting a McDonald's or other fast food outlet in.

Are you mad?

The logistics for getting 8 staff from town up there for a few hours just wouldn't work anyway as Saturday is the busiest day in the city for starters, but the quality of the shite they produce is probably no better than what's at the KP now.

I don't know why people don't vote with thier feet if the food inside the ground is crap. I don't get to games much now but always had a proper burger outside the ground before kick off and then some decent food after the match. Could never be arsed with all that queuing - complete waste of time.

I (Ian) represented the Foxes Trust at the Concourse Redesign Meeting last night - can posters please stop posting catering comments in Leicester Lasses topic & keep that focused on the questions raised.

The first half hour of last night was attended by the catering company, who now "receive little feedback", so we have opened direct dialogue with them.

So we are happy to take feedback on catering by posting on this thread, but posts such as "they are slow, they don't care" will be ignored.

If you have criticism (or praise) on service - then alongside your comment, for the feedback to be useful, the comment needs to include details of which game, which stand, ideally which kiosk (rough location within stand) and a key point, the approx. time of the issue. Being aware of this thread, please think about this at future games.

All the tills are linked & record the amount of customers served, so the catering company is tracking information to improve service.

Also on this thread, feel free to make suggestions of different food (or drink) you would like to see served, these could be fed back to the caterers for feasibility (not all foods are practical) and then maybe those that are feasible & initially appear popular could be pulled into a wider survey.

Would it be possible to add vending machines around the ground to ease the pressure, sometimes you only want a drink and it takes forever to get one.

For £2.20 you get half a cup of (often lukewarm) tea. I'm always asking for a top up. This usually results in the server getting confused and having to ask a supervisor who then performs the complex task of adding extra water.

No I took an example that I knew about.

And no having worked there it wouldn't take a lot to move a handful of staff.

And trust me the 5.40 I paid for a double cheese burger last home game. I'd have taken a big Mac meal all day long.

I get its not everyone's cup of tea. It just seems weird no football club has ever considered using high street instead of the shit catering companies the trot out now.

Ps I do love quote that you made up ☺

I'm fully aware you've used it as an eg, but quality wise it's no better whether it's Ronald, the Colonel or the flamed grilled oinks.

Maybe no ground has gone down that route as the franchise wouldn't want to pay the clubs or the clubs want some of their profits. Lots or reasons including the obvious one stated further up the page by someone regarding it's only open for business 19 days in a season for a few hours.

That you only therefore have to staff for about 72 hours a year yet have a captive audience of 30k during that time. ☺

Maybe that's a captive audience but it doesn't mean everyone wants to buy a shit meal in a brown paper bag.

They need better staff. The people behind the till are slow as fuch. Ohh and the prices are truely ridiculous and the food is shit.

But it seems Dispite a whole thread of complaints they will buy piss lager and a shite hot dog lol

I once made the mistake of paying £3.50? for those roast pulled pork cobs... Wow...I like to have a little foreplay before sex. So next time, hopefully I'll get a kiss with that burger before I get f**ed again.

There needs to be fair and reasonably priced meal deal which would be something like 3.50, drink, snack and warm piece of food.

Not sure how much it matters though. As long as you have that one stop shop near the ground, serving you quicker then you can say "next please", then I'm happy. They do much more reasonably priced food.

I won't argue with that as you're right.

I've not bought anything inside the ground since the before the Sven era, I can go 2 hours without a dodgy over priced pie or naff beer.

Concourses across the country are generally awful. I don't think ours is that bad.

The food is overprices and the queues excessive but that isn't going to change.

I never go down at half-time, it's just common knowledge that you're going to miss part of the match and I'd rather eat/drink before or after the game.

A beer queue makes great sense and should be initiated asap.

Our concourse rates highly compared to most, as most at new stadiums make me feel like I'm in an empty warehouse, whatever happened to all the bars being named after ex players?

Posted

Those pulled pork and stuffing roll/baguette kiosks a few seasons ago in the concourses were pretty decent. Only downside was the extortionate £6+ pricetag they put with it. No wonder they didn't last long. Shame though.

This thread is stupid.....the main point is there are always queues as long as the concourse every game, to which is why I don't use the catering and when I have in the past, you get to the front of the queue and there is no urgency and it takes ages to just grab a coffee.

I get these guys perhaps are students or whatever and don't want to be there but let's face it they work a couple of hours before the game and 15 mins at half time. There might be another hour here or there prepping or tidying etc. But come on!

And then you give us what feels like attitude, telling us to give you positives instead or as well on everything else about catering but the actual service, which is part of the catering service.

Positive for you, foods fine enough outside the stadium.

Why is this thread stupid exactly?

Have the catering company ever thought of branching out to different types of cusine? It is quite limited as to what is on offer. We are a city of many types and it would be nice to maybe incorporate that into the city's major sporting catering options?
