Don't think they make money as such, but a couple of really 'good' ones shared plenty of times is likely to get more people back to the page they were created by and so I guess for some companies they can be a sneaky advertising tool...

What a load of shit then - it's one of those thing you think, if I could release my conscious enough to be a shitty person I could probably make a bit of wad here, but I'd then know I've made money out of being a dick and not all the spending power of the world would make that go away completely. But on second thoughts...!

One share gets their name into 400 people's profiles.
