Kilworthfox Posted 22 January 2016 Posted 22 January 2016 Now I have no knowledge other than a reasonable guess at what our top players are currently earning... At a guess I'd suggest that our top players earn 40 to 50k per week. I am wondering what kind of wages we will be offering for this new striker coming in over the next 10/11 days? Obviously we can't start throwing £80-£100k per week around without annoying our current stars. So are we limited to what we can reasonably offer, or will we be rewarding our current players soon? Maybe we might have to consider these permutations for the sake of squad harmony. As we are doing so well, and come summer the traditional top teams will obviously come and make offers for and too our top players, so I think new contracts will get dished out especially if we are top 3/4. Moving up the division and into Europe is great, but there is a huge financial commitment required from the owners to maintain this trajectory. Interesting times...
Captain... Posted 22 January 2016 Posted 22 January 2016 Stick within the wage structure for the time being, we can bring in players like Kante, Mahrez, Vardy, Gray and offer them huge wage rises, whilst keeping it within the structure, we should be rewarding our star players with better wages not gambling them on a new signing.
davieG Posted 22 January 2016 Posted 22 January 2016 What are the chances of any new striker from outside England earning as much as £40k already?
Kilworthfox Posted 22 January 2016 Author Posted 22 January 2016 It's not what they are currently earning abroad , it's what our competitors here in England are willing to offer that is the force driving up wages especially with the new TV deal. What new striker ? In yesterday's press conference Claudio said he was very confident of bringing in a new striker this January.
kingcarr21 Posted 22 January 2016 Posted 22 January 2016 I wouldn't worry too much about wages atm. Players abroad would look at us this month and think Leicester are in the spotlight and is a perfect chance for a player to make a name for themselves worldwide and possibly get Champions League football. Wouldn't surprise me if we get someone in on say 40k a week for the rest of the season then tell all the players if you make the champions league we will increase all your wages by a certain percentage (I don't know, 50% maybe, that excessive?). It will certainly be interesting to see what the club does
hackneyfox Posted 22 January 2016 Posted 22 January 2016 Waiting for all the ITKs on here to start telling us who is on what.
Guest Posted 22 January 2016 Posted 22 January 2016 I'm sure it will be structured around CL bonuses.
Soar Fox Posted 22 January 2016 Posted 22 January 2016 Who would be our top earner in the squad currently?
Fox92 Posted 22 January 2016 Posted 22 January 2016 A club our size can't chuck money at any player, even if we do get in the Champions League. It goes wrong then we end up with such a financial problem. I agree we need to attract a better caliber of player but I wouldn't go over whatever the limit is atm.
Lestoh Posted 22 January 2016 Posted 22 January 2016 reckon Andy King would still play for £8.50 an hour tbh
