arsenal and spurs poaching some of our scouting team

Not sure he is that important. Sounds like a data analyst to me.

True, so long as they don't poach Steve Walsh then it's not too bad

And as things fell apart, nobody paid much attention.

It's imperative we not only manage to keep our players playing, but our coaches coaching, and our scouters scouting.

Replacements can only go so far when building like we have. If we can't keep our backroom at Leicester, what chance do we have on keeping Mahrez? or keeping Kante?

The fact Spurs and Arsenal have poached these behind the scenes talents tells you that this is where we should be, and we are in and around the teams we should be competing with. One may be just a data analyst, but he was our data analyst - people seem to lump so much pressure on to Steve Walsh now he's been credited with signings and being part of our sucsess, but it's always been Steve Walsh's team, and not Walsh as the individual that has compiled everything needed to present to the management and Rudkin.

Yep. Data analysts are most likely grads with a couple of years experience using the software we use. They'll then probably be responsible with drawing up shortlists for Walsh to look at in more detail.

He is a bloody techie there are hundreds of lads able to do his job ! Literally hundreds !

Good luck to him he will be gone as soon at wenger is gone

Disappointing, but far from the 'body blow' that losing Walsh might be! Would be amazed if his replacement isn't already sorted.I understand his role was to trawl 'performance data' to attempt to identify players whose strengths appear to suit our style. The scouting 'team' then took things from there! The AFC forums seem to be bigging him up as THE man who discovered Mahrez and Kante. Don't think it's quite that simple in truth...Also makes you wonder why Wenger's apparently huge French scouting network managed to overlook them!

Well we know Mahrez was spotted when we were looking at someone else don't we.
