Buffalo should move to Hamilton which is the canadian hometown for about 29 years of my life). The amount of fans, community involvement and investment would be huge.

Chicago a nice place. Was back and forth there for 5.5 years as my ex was from the north suburbs. Never got to see a Blackhawks game though. Was too busy doing other things lol

Yeah a team in Hamilton makes a lot of sense or even a 2nd Toronto team, but it would just get vetoed as you mentioned.

 

Probably wasn't worth going unless it was between  2008 to 2016. Or before when Roenick was there with chelly.

 

Blackhawks will be much improved next season. Maybe 15 points better 🍀🤞🏻

Ya was 98 to 2003 time frame.

 

I don't think Toronto should get another team it should always be Hamilton but that has come up before. 

 

Best of luck with the hawks. I really hope Montreal gets there first though!

Buffalo should have been competitive by now, and they decided to show up this season, when they had  guaranteed no playoffs, so they just hurt their own draft position, doh. The Islanders are the most negative hockey team, and I like defensive hockey! 

I think The Sabres need a new GM (palm trees), and probably a new coach, although I do like Ruff. There is something to build around but the Sables are so inconsistent. Thompson should be a beast, he can look like Mario one night then a bum the next. You need to make a trade on defence, and IMO Power is the guy who you should trade for a scoring forward but I believe he has a NMC.  Good luck however, it must be tough.

Again, I'm just not following the game these days. My family was watching the Leafs playoff games, so that's why I was involved.

 

I still check on the standings frim time to time and see how everyone's doing.

 

I hardly know a lot of the players, other than the ones that have been around for a long time.

 

Used to watch a lot, plus doing fantasy hockey and playing the NHL games.

 

Last night was another reminder of why I don't like the Leafs, or their over-priced tickets and pretty much everything about them lol

 

If the Sabres ever do get back to the playoffs, I just might tune in.

It's bizarre how they place the Worlds in the middle of the NHL playoffs. You wonder why they can't place it in the off-season.

Yeah, that's always been strange. 

 

Nice for us that Crosby went and MacKinnon after the Avs got knocked out.

 

Of course, it didn't help us today against Finland :mellow:

The NHL & IIHF organise the 2 separate tournaments, generally they do not serve each others interests, so you get a schedule like this.

How easy is it to get tickets for games over here? Unsure of who to go watch though. Possibly be more likely to go watch Sheffield Steelers as feels wrong to go watch a Nottingham ice hockey team obviously supporting Leicester.

No there isn't unfortunately. I was hoping with the stadium expansion we were meant to be having an arena built they'd of been a slim chance of having one. If we do it'll be years and years away cause it'll be years before we get an expansion now. Think if I go watch anyone it'll be Sheffield Steelers. No idea on how easy it is to get tickets for their games. Or the price for tickets.

Yeah easy mate, I watch the Steelers a fair bit.

You been before? It’s like a Nickleback gig  which can be tough until you zone in on the sport.

Tickets are £8 four about 5 games a season the rest they are £25 which stings a bit.

Never been before mate, always watched NHL though, I know the games won't be to that standard. Always liked watching when I've been able too. With my interest in football getting to point of not being bothered anymore, Leicester doesn't help but that's another issue which we are aware of, so thought it's a perfect time to get back into other sports I really enjoy. Problems with potentially getting to Steelers games are the cost of travel and hotels too which isn't ideal.

Might be worth going to a game when the tickets are £8 just to see if it's something I'd commit to fairly regularly.

When the fixtures come out I will drop you a line on the cheaper ones.

 

Yeah I really enjoy going. They played in Europe last year and to see the level up that came with was great. Was an away tifo from a German team too which was wicked.

Still frustrating that we don't have the NHL on over here on a main sports channel like Sky. Just look how big the NFL has grown over here with more exposure. Would love the same for the NHL.

Cheers mate, I really appreciate it. Funnily enough I was looking at the season tickets prices for the Steelers for next season and I don't know if it was just me but I thought it was expensive? 

 

I bet watching a game in Europe was an amazing experience wasn't it? Tifo at an Ice Hockey game that is wicked.

Yeah I have thought similar, I know there are a lot of games but it's high.

 

The lack of teams does mean you are seeing the same on repeat. The teams with gig arenas usually do best.

It'll be my best chance watching ice hockey live at the moment, hoping to get over to the States to watch a game at some point. 

 

It really is a shame Leicester don't have a team and unfortunately I don't ever see it happening.
