shen Posted 26 April 2016 Posted 26 April 2016 What about the run of 1-0 wins - all those points would not have been gained without good defending. True, but neither would they have been gained if we didn't score. If football was mainly about defending, it wouldn't be a sport billions would like to see. There's a case for Huth to be nominated before Morgan anyway as he has chipped in with two more (absolutely crucial) goals and been part of the same defense keeping those clean sheets.
Guest Manini Posted 26 April 2016 Posted 26 April 2016 Kante has been the player of the year for me. Made up for Riyad but he's inconsistent, just my opinion. I'd be a lot more upset if we lost Kante and kept Mahrez, Kante is a once in a lifetime player. We've surely got to win SPOTY team award haven't we?!
Guest safetosurfthisbeach Posted 26 April 2016 Posted 26 April 2016 Defenders don't catch the headlines the way that attackers do. Unless the pundits talk him up or he does something extraordinary then he will remain a (partially) unsung hero.
AyewJoking Posted 26 April 2016 Posted 26 April 2016 you think Morgan is feeling even a tiny bit jealous he didnt win it? he is our captain and knows his job is to defend our goal and leave it to other players to shine. you think he needs someone to tell him what an excellent season he has had? in a year where he has achieved champions league football and likely premier league title, is the lack of a player of the season award going to keep him awake at night? football is a team game and all our players know they are part of the greatest story sport has ever seen.
NotTheMarketLeader Posted 26 April 2016 Posted 26 April 2016 Watching the Player of the year awards and not seeing Morgan win it really hurts to be honest, its confusing, upsetting and wrong at the same time. Seeing Mahrez, Vardy and Kante be nominated from Leicester but not Morgan for me is one of the most puzzling things I have ever seen. I'm happy for Mahrez, of course I like all Leicester players, good for him, he is skillful, but Morgan is just on another universe. He is light years ahead of anyone at the Player of the year awards. The fact that our captain has won The Championship (1st) , saved us from the biggest relegation escape in Premiership history, and is now going to win The Premiership (1st) .. the least he should get is a nomination. He deserves more than anyone. He is not only a amazing defender, but he is also the manager and leader of the team, what Morgan says goes, regardless or Pearson or Ranieri or whoever else is there. Leicester never changed this season when we brought Kante, it never changed with Vardy or Mahrez. Leicester City changed forever in 2012, when we signed Morgan, the best ever. Our club has been uphill ever since the day he walked through the door. You can take Vardy out of the team, you can take Mahrez out of the team, you can take Kante out the team and you will be surprised..the results will be pretty much the same. Take Morgan out and we will crumble, it would be all over forever, the premier league will be not for us anymore. It hurts, impossible to watch the awards, happy for Mahrez, but the fact Morgan was not up there is just utterly disgusting on so many levels. The only thing I could come up with was that they just don;t give defenders these awards, and they like to give it to attacking players. Wes, I had a shot of your Captain Morgan Rum the other week in your honour. Does that soften the blow....at all?

Fuchs has been amazing this season, he's half the reason the defense has shored up so much - nothing ever comes down the left and he supports the attacks well. I would say he's the best fullback in the Prem, so seasoned and experienced and always seems to do the right\best thing. But I've heard and read virtually nothing about him all season. Even more surprising as he was a free transfer....
Nick Posted 26 April 2016 Posted 26 April 2016 The list of previous winners kinda lacks defenders and keepers though eh?
fuchsntf Posted 26 April 2016 Posted 26 April 2016 Sepp smith, Ian King, G.cross, Sjoberg, Blockley, S.Simms, M.Manley, S.Walsh, Elliot, Taggart, A.Black, Mcklintock, Chalmers..... W.Morgan with his compatriot ,no-prisoners-Huth, will be the ones who will have, their hands on that previously unreachable, untouchable silverware. That makes big Wes no1, no debate, no ifs, no other could play so or so. The Title you see, stops any arguments dead in their tracks. Of the others mentioned , they are no lesser heroes just not... mmm oh well..ermmm, sort it out yourself...!!!

It changed when Huth came in Morgan was shaky early on last season and Weslowski played brilliantly in the last 10 games when we switched to 3 at the back
Foxxed Posted 28 April 2016 Posted 28 April 2016 Wes is largely responsible for the amazing team spirit and togetherness. There's no way we could be where we are without him. I would not want anyone else as our captain. And as a full back I can't think of many on the same level. I keep remember that last minute tackle at Liverpool. Here's easily one of the best in the premier league. But Vardy and Mahrez are two of the best in the world.
