WesMorganGod Posted 26 April 2016 Posted 26 April 2016 Watching the Player of the year awards and not seeing Morgan win it really hurts to be honest, its confusing, upsetting and wrong at the same time. Seeing Mahrez, Vardy and Kante be nominated from Leicester but not Morgan for me is one of the most puzzling things I have ever seen. I'm happy for Mahrez, of course I like all Leicester players, good for him, he is skillful, but Morgan is just on another universe. He is light years ahead of anyone at the Player of the year awards. The fact that our captain has won The Championship (1st) , saved us from the biggest relegation escape in Premiership history, and is now going to win The Premiership (1st) .. the least he should get is a nomination. He deserves more than anyone. He is not only a amazing defender, but he is also the manager and leader of the team, what Morgan says goes, regardless or Pearson or Ranieri or whoever else is there. Leicester never changed this season when we brought Kante, it never changed with Vardy or Mahrez. Leicester City changed forever in 2012, when we signed Morgan, the best ever. Our club has been uphill ever since the day he walked through the door. You can take Vardy out of the team, you can take Mahrez out of the team, you can take Kante out the team and you will be surprised..the results will be pretty much the same. Take Morgan out and we will crumble, it would be all over forever, the premier league will be not for us anymore. It hurts, impossible to watch the awards, happy for Mahrez, but the fact Morgan was not up there is just utterly disgusting on so many levels. The only thing I could come up with was that they just don;t give defenders these awards, and they like to give it to attacking players.
Vardinhio Posted 26 April 2016 Posted 26 April 2016 Morgan is amazing but you on a serious note he is not as important to us as Vardy, Kante or Mahrez.
WigstonWanderer Posted 26 April 2016 Posted 26 April 2016 Please don't get me wrong. I think Wes is an amazing player and did even last season when he was so unfairly lampooned here, but are you his mother?
erlee Posted 26 April 2016 Posted 26 April 2016 Come on Morgan.. defenders are unlikely to win it. It's always gonna be an attacking mid or forwards.
Hamstonian Posted 26 April 2016 Posted 26 April 2016 Wes Morgan is going to be remembered forever as the captain of this Leicester City side that is about to achieve the impossible. He will have been captain on the promotion to the premier league. He was captain during the great escape. The man didn't make it to the top flight until around 30 years old. He is living in a dream world at a place that he probably could not have imagined just a year ago. There is no reason in the world to feel sorry for the captain. The leader of this team. The rock. Soon to be legend.
foxes161 Posted 26 April 2016 Posted 26 April 2016 He deserves alot of credit for this season but Mahrez has had game changing moments.
wc-remix Posted 26 April 2016 Posted 26 April 2016 Wes deserves a **** load of credit but Riyad was next-level this season.
Ric Flair Posted 26 April 2016 Posted 26 April 2016 I love the fact he was binned off at 16 for being too fat.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 26 April 2016 Posted 26 April 2016 Riyad deserves it, Morgan still got in the PFA team of the year... the right man won
Fox92 Posted 26 April 2016 Posted 26 April 2016 He's going to be the first Leicester City captain to win the top flight. Unbelievable. Morgan has improved dramatically, and I do think Huth has made him a better player, but I've seen Morgan do things I never thought I would - bring the ball down, look comfortable on the ball etc. Hero.
Manjiro Posted 26 April 2016 Posted 26 April 2016 Come on Morgan.. defenders are unlikely to win it. It's always gonna be an attacking mid or forwards. John Terry won it. Just saying.
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 26 April 2016 Posted 26 April 2016 I can see where you're coming from, Wes has been absolutely excellent this season and is worthy of being one of the contenders for the award. Hopefully as a result he will be lifting the Premier League trophy. I think there's a case for all of our starting XI to be contenders. But at least one of our players has received player of the year - Mahrez. Mahrez is certainly one of the best players we've had in many years - technical ability, skill, finishing. All the attributes of a world class footballer.
Bluetintedspecs Posted 26 April 2016 Posted 26 April 2016 Don't worry Wes we still love you even with a Forest tattoo.
Out Foxed Posted 26 April 2016 Posted 26 April 2016 was reading it thinking...this guys a weirdo. then glanced at the username and it confirmed my suspicions.
ramadaone Posted 26 April 2016 Posted 26 April 2016 It is easy to measure Mahrez and Vardy because there are stats to prove the positive things they have done - goals assists etc With Morgan you are trying to measure him on things that he might have stopped by tackling , blocking etc - how many of these would have been goals ? No idea is the answer but would it be much different to Mahrez's "positive" impacts ? Possibly not but is scoring / creating a goal more difficult than stopping one ? Mahrez a worthy winner for me but can understand the love for Wes by the OP
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 26 April 2016 Posted 26 April 2016 Wes won't give a shit if we win on Saturday... For he is the one who will gets his hands on the far more important trophy first.
ST20 Posted 26 April 2016 Posted 26 April 2016 Comparing Wes Morgan from last season to this one is truly mind bending.
Dan Posted 26 April 2016 Posted 26 April 2016 Defenders have no chance sadly. I can't remember a defender ever winning anything like this other than Cannavaro.
ajthefox Posted 26 April 2016 Posted 26 April 2016 Wes is immense, but please do us all a favour and withdraw your head from his arse. Either that or shut up.
kingfox Posted 26 April 2016 Posted 26 April 2016 @@WesMorganGod is the best poster on this forum, fact!
Sionnach gorm Posted 26 April 2016 Posted 26 April 2016 I agree with him on the fact that he's been key, both as a player and, as CR has said, important in communicating key elements of both tactics and team spirit. Jocularity is all well and good ( the love for his favorite player is very strong), but he makes a good point. Wes should've been considered.
Kitchandro Posted 26 April 2016 Posted 26 April 2016 A bit OTT maybe... Having said that he has been incredible* this season. He'll be an all time legend for what he's done here, especially after spending almost his entire career in League 1 and the Championship. And he should 100% be in anyone's Premier League team of the year. *I was going to use the word faultless but then I remember his moment at Stoke away
fox in the sox Posted 26 April 2016 Posted 26 April 2016 Morgan is amazing but you on a serious note he is not as important to us as Vardy, Kante or Mahrez. What about the run of 1-0 wins - all those points would not have been gained without good defending.
