Worst take aways and orders you've regretted

Gotta be Baines - see my writeup above. If you like food poisoning and burnt pizza, it's the plaice to be

Mind you the locals big up Birstall Fisheries way too much for what is a completely bog standard chip shop. Rothley chip shop and Sileby Fish Bar any day

Baines sometimes nail it though (sometimes). It's taken a mad nosedive the past year or so which is a shame as it was decent when it opened up, I thought.

Delight Express, Welford road.

They do nice food but the service is terrible.

The last time I ordered from there was the final straw.

Gave them my address and phone number, was told 40 minutes.

After three quarters of an hour, the first call saying they cant find my house, explained where my house was.

Fifteen minutes later another call, explained again where my house was, directions and house number, what cars were in the street etc.,

Five minutes later another call, still cant find me.

Five minutes later a call from the shop asking where my house is, then they tell me he will be at my house shortly.

Another five minutes and a call, I had to go to my door and wave at the dumb fecker, foods cold, though the order is actually correct this time around, twice before they sent the wrong stuff.

Threw the menu in the bin and have never used them since.

I would like to add that Uni Takeaway in Nottingham is shocking. My first year of uni I went there after a night out, walked back past the Forest Rec with my pizza and almost had to squat in a graveyard. Never before have I ran so far and so fast like a penguin.

Also theres a few up Mansfield Road that are dodgy. City Chicken is nicknamed Shitty Chicken by my mates purely due to the after effects of their 2 chicken strip burgers, 2 fries and 2 drinks for 3 quid deal.

Maryland in town always used to finish me off. Once Maryland started to branch out, all taxi's implemented soiling charges. Coincidence?

lol to be fair if you had taken a dump anywhere near Forest Rec it wouldn't have looked out of place.

Mario's on Braunstone Gate has taken a serious dive in the last couple of years too. Used to be the fried food venue of choice on the way home after a night out.

Now it's reheated chips that haven't been sold in the afternoon.

Hasn't it shut down now?

Pizza Magic on fosse road south

The most destroyed my stomach has ever been, and I only had a burger with chilli sauce on it

I swear whoever made that burger thought they were being funny and put ghost pepper sauce on it or something. Was drunk when I ate it so didn't notice so much on the way down, but half hour later all hell broke loose.

Never going there again

Uni Takeaway, Nottingham. By a country mile the worst pizza I have ever had. Imagine a wet slice of bread marinaded in onion juice, covered in Lidl imitation cheese singles and left on the radiator for 10 minutes. This place is still open, so if you want a laugh go and order a pizza from there and give it to someone you hate, or post it through their letterbox to reduce the value of their house.

Way ahead of you!

This was before a gig, I asked a friend of a friend where to get a decent pizza and she said "Uni Takeaway is alright, nothing groundbreaking just the usual takeaway stuff"

It made Maryland look like a Michelin-starred book-12-months-in-advance kind of place

The Maryland on Narborough Road. Any Maryland, in fact. I used to eat fried chicken every week. Now I won't touch the stuff. I hate the marks on the skin, I hate the soggyness of the coating. I particularly hate when you bite into a piece and some liquid dribbles down your chin and you try to convince yourself it's just the fat from the fryer but deep down you just know the chicken had some sort of tumour.

lol That's brilliant!

Yeah but what I don't get is, whichever Chinese you go to in any part of the country the menu is always the same. And all the ones I've tried all seem to use the same generic sauce for whatever sauce based meal you order.

Yeah, I've been really disappointed with Chinese takeaways ever since I left my parents'. Sileby Cottage was my local, and everywhere I've been since has been shite in comparison. I did think I might have just remembered it being a lot better than it actually was, but I have been fairly recently, and it wasn't my mind playing tricks. So there are really good Chinese takeaways out there, but I think they are rare.

Not a takeaway order, but my worst experience was at a Chinese restaurant. It was a friend's birthday, and my rule at the time was to always order something new. That rule had always served me well up to then, and I'd discovered lots of new favourites. However, that was all about to come to an abrubt end. I can't remember the name of the dish, but it had a side of "fish sauce". If you've had that before, then you probably know what's next. As the orders arrived at the table, I started to notice a faint noxious odour. Has someone got dog shit on their shoes? My order is placed in front of me, and the smell is stronger. Oh, God. What is this? Sure enough, the stench was eminating from the little pot of dark, oily sauce on my plate. Fvck. Maybe only I can smell it. No such luck. My friend sitting next to me notices and I have to spend the rest of the meal apologising and explaining to people that I'd never had it before. They must have thought I was sick in the head. How did this come to be? How twisted was the chef who invented it? How many depraved individuals ordering it would it take to keep it on the menu? I don't think I'll ever have the answers.

Being adventurous is a good thing, but only until you get shafted.

Never had that problem.  Even when my sister comes to Cornwall to visit and a box of wings has sat in her car for 6 hours.  45 seconds in the microwave, yam them all and my stools stay regular and of a good consistency.

I love Maryland.  Might open a franchise down here.

Maryland is fantastic, as is Munch Munch.

Don't Munch Munch do a 10 inch pizza for like 3 quid?
