No more 'projects'

I didn't think we'd do much more in the market but if Schlupp goes & the performances don't pick up I think we'll do one maybe two more. I don't have names but in the same way that Huth has been one of our very best signings I think it's time to add experience.

We have some younger (24 & under) players who have shown great potential either with us or elsewhere: Chilwell, Gray, Kapustka, Mendy, Musa. These players will need time & patience & we will see days like yesterday from them all.

However in the Premier League time waits for no one & I'd like to see a couple of 'ready to go' signings arrive. Diarra from Marsielle is one name that springs to mind. An experienced international player who will hit the ground running.

The future looks very bright but for now I think we can leave the Gabigol & Paredes' of this world & add some 'know how'.

just my $0.02

Yes I completely agree, whilst its fantastic we are investing in younger talent - and who knows one of them could be this season's 'Dele' - I would prefer it now if we focused on some proven premier league players.

The argument of not wanting to disrupt the dressing room by bringing in superstars etc isn't valid after yesterday's pathetic display. In fact it may make them raise their game.

agreed id like us to sign a few established players who are better than what we currently have, filling the squad with numbers and kids is all well and good until a couple of our core 11 start picking up injuries, say if huth, drinky, simpson or vardy picked up an injury i don't feel we have enough quality in any of those positions to replace!! time to splash the cash and take advantage of our champions tag/ champions league status

Amazing what 1 loss does to so many people.

Yes this post was completely based on a single 90 minutes. None of it was thought out before that point. It was all because we lost a football match to Hull. Thanks for your constructive reply.

Obviously it was.

We need projects and lots of them because we can't afford to go out and buy Messi or Ronaldo and even if we could they wouldn't want to play for little Leicester.

In case you didn't notice we won the league last year and every player in that team was a project when we got him.

Was Huth Messi? Or Albrighton? Or even Okazaki who was an established International footballer? I see nothing wrong with adding some experience to a squad which has quite s number of players who need to be developed. I'm not suggesting lavish purchases just a couple of smart signings. I don't need the condescending crap either, pretty sure I followed the team as closely as you.

We already have the experience. We are adding young quality as this is a far better business approach re sell on values. The team that won the league by ten points is not going to be relegated, even without the K man. have some confidence.

So apart from Huth I agree wasn't a project just a stike city reject, who else have you got?

People want prem experience but moan when you get quoted £30m for the likes of Deeney and Bolasie. Someone in their prime and decent will either cost s fortune or be nigh on impossible to get.

I don't necessarily mean Premier League experience just at a level to immediately contribute. Diarra for example would walk into this team & give an immediate impact.

When I say experience I'm more talking about the level they can come in and contribute at immediately. If (just for example) the final two signings of the window were Paredes & Gabigol we'd have another period of adjustment & indifferent performances. In my opinion it would also lift the likes of Drinkwater, Mahrez & Morgan who have all looked very frustrated during various points this preseason.

Yet you quote Okazaki as your example. He couldn't even talk English through the end of the season. I think he needed a long period of adjustment - he still needs to learn how to fall over and get a foul in the prem.

Yeah international footballer, regular Bundesliga starter for a significant period. Proven level of performance at both levels. He's exactly like Gabigol & Paredes. Just the same mate, great point.

Let's sign peter crouch. He's got experience. Quick, get schwarzer back

You do understand this isn't FIFA or Football Manager? You can't just build continued success with 19-22 year olds? There must be a balance. You seem to confuse 'proven' with 'shit old has beens'. Sorry you chose to read my post that way.

Btw why would you have such a hissy fit over signing the likes of a N'Zonzi or Diarra? You'd think I'm insinuating that every player should be 35+ and on his last legs.

I have genuinely no idea why sportsnut is getting such a hard time!!! granted there's no gaurentee established English/foreign players will settle any quicker the fact they're already developed into roughly the player they're going to become is exactly what we need... Look no further than the young players we've signed, Amartey, gray, kapustka they all have undoubtably massive potential but 1) they're still learning the game and 2) they/we have no idea there best position or how to play them.... Then on the flip sid you sign say Nzonzi and from the get go you know exactly what your getting hence the call for no more projects!!! We're a couple of established players away from having another good season imo

Don't bother mate. People choose to read what they want to read. I don't think it's in anyway madness to get proven quality (of any nationality) into this squad. It will make the lives of those youngsters nuch easier. In the future of course go for more Kapustka's, Gray's etc but I thought at this stage a quality player or two would come in handy.

Evidently not.

No doubt, there will be the ones  who find fun, in Contradicting

your view Point, but I agree totally.

I would l Welcome the club to go out and find an established,

experienced player. A good example would be a Schweinsteiger,

but not this player himself, his body aint up to it, injuries big problem.

Though some player of his ilk, who can give us 1-2 seasons, and

Knowing he will be playing a high % of games but not all.
