It Is so obvious, I am very disappointed with Claudio.. Good as Drinky is, without Kante our two will not beat the three that the top teams will play. It can happen against the dross perhaps, but not very often. Drinky with Mendy and one other, Amartey, King, maybe even Albrighton or Schlupp, with three in front interchanging positions, from Vardy, Mahrez, Slimani, Gray, Ulloa, Okazaki, Musa and the young Polish lad backing either. I would drop Shinji, keep Albrighton in a central role, and pick three from Musa, Vardy, Slimani and Mahrez in Belgium. Fuchs and Mahrez must be getting close to being dropped. Shape up or get dropped and sell in January!

Thanks for that Sharpey. Balance of probabilities, best case scenarios, common sense, always the best ways forward. Common sense is what's required, not clairvoyance, to provide the best chance of getting things right! Two against three last season, in the midfield, worked with Kante and Drinkwater, it don't work now, without Kante. Now that is not clairvoyance, rocket science or anything other than common sense that we now need to have three in the middle.

What next the return of seenitall. Some of our fans need to get real batter the Belgium's this week we will be Champions league winners. We can all say told you so but it is not always possible to get what you want.
Deucalion Posted 11 September 2016 Posted 11 September 2016 I think it's a fair point to say that changing the formation which won us the league last season would've been a risk. However, we have tried it now and it looks to be failing miserably. The midfield neither protects the defense nor provides quality service to the strikers. I would now think it is time for Cloudio to begin to tinker. I will be sorry to see us play with only one up front but it probably is the price of a competitive midfield. Is this the middle ground perhaps?

Unless you people have got a very short memory a pre kante midfield of King and drinkwater looked like Brazil against Sunderland last season the Sunderland bloke next to me in the posh seats said I have never seen a team close down as much. Get over Kante we were half decent before him now we don't chase can't you see that ffs?

Sorry guts, but that is so obvious I really do not understand how this can be denied. We have just been battered, conceded four goals and without some of the brilliant saves by Schmeichal it could have been seven. Ok, let's just stick to the same formation as last year, because it is too early to change? Don't be daft!
