ScouseFox Posted 19 October 2016 Posted 19 October 2016 thought simpson was the best player on the pitch quite comfortably. went with kasper 8 - extra point for that save. didn't have much else to do. simpson 9 - didn't put a foot wrong? even looked half good on the ball. huth 7 morgan 7 fuchs 7 riyad 7 - match winner again king 8 drinkwater 8 albrighton 7 vardy 7 slimani 7
Corky Posted 19 October 2016 Posted 19 October 2016 Schmeichel- 8 (That save was wonderful, I think the crowd were taken aback by how quickly it all happened) Simpson- 9 (Really impressed with him- got stuck in, defended intelligently, even did well going forward) Morgan- 7 Huth- 7 Fuchs- 7 Mahrez- 8 King- 7 Drinkwater- 8 Albrighton- 6 Vardy- 7 Slimani- 6
urban.spaceman Posted 19 October 2016 Posted 19 October 2016 Thought in general we were poor for the first 25 minutes but after that it was a commanding performance. Kasper gets a 10 from me just for THAT save. Outstanding. Simpson 7 - did his job well Morgan 8 - carried on though you could see him struggling with his knock. Gave a Captain's performance IMO. Huth 7 - took the flack from Morgan and handled most things pretty well Fuchs 7 - did his job well as usual Albrighton 6 - thought he was a bit poor and needs to get his act together Drinkwater 7 - did his job well as usual King 8 - was everywhere, positioned himself well, got involved and worked really hard Mahrez 8 - great improvisation for the goal Vardy 7 - ran and ran and ran, worked hard for the team Slimani 8 - ran. A lot. The inter-play between him, Mahrez and Vardy is very, very promising.
The Blur Posted 19 October 2016 Posted 19 October 2016 Kasper 8 Dealt with all of their attacks smartly and pulled out a magnificent save at the end. Simpson 7 Assured Huth 7 See above Morgan 7.5 Dominated the defence and dealt with everything that were thrown at him. MOTM Fuchs 6.5 Slightly above the average Mahrez 7 Poor in first half but shone in the second half. Could have second if it was not for that excellent block by their defender. King 7 Steady Eddie- played sensibly and within his limits. Worked hard. Drinkwater 7.5 Evreywhere in picking up the ball from defence and launching attacks. Would have scored higher if more of his through balls came off. Albrighton 5 He is one of my favourite players as he reminded me of myself the most and I have always defended him in the past but he was the worst player on the pitch. Fine defensively but normally he is capable of playing good passes along with mixed crossing (Crossing is always bit of a pot luck anyway) but tonight he lost the ball playing short passes on several occasions. I think there was a period last season where he was off form and got dropped for a bit which did him some good. Gray really need to come in as he is just capable as Albrighton offensive wise (replace crossing with dribbling) and is not that bad defensively for his age. Slimani 6.5 Mixed- good assist but slightly clumsy including slipping at a crucial moment after beating a defender. Vardy 6.5 Worked hard- some good play. Hopefully he is getting closer to his former level. Subs- Not enough time to rate Ranieri 6- Picked the right player in Simpson but played his subs way too late once again.
stevelcfc Posted 19 October 2016 Posted 19 October 2016 Ref/ useless tools on the goal lines failed to see the ball was 3 yards out for their chance early on and again on a few other occasions. Crazy how some have rated him so high.
Clever Fox Posted 19 October 2016 Posted 19 October 2016 Great to see so many players back on the job. Simpson done well against a tricky winger but still got in to many times for my liking, though not Simpsons fault. We still have problems at the back which needs fixing. DD ran the game for us with good help from King. Definitely kings best game this season and may earn him a game on Saturday. It was nice to see Mahrez moving around searching for space. It proves he's learning the game and augers well for the future. Slim gives us that extra dimension and he worked well with Vardy and the partnership will get better. Albrighton doesn't possess the skill of others but boy does he work hard for the team. His positioning sense is terrific as demonstrated by his defensive clearances lately. . It's clear we've been working on our inter play and it's showing improvement, But we still need that quality midfielder. Still a win and no goals conceded is progress. Onwards and upwards we go.
Kinowe Soorie Posted 20 October 2016 Posted 20 October 2016 Danny and Kasper both 9. The rest were meh. Drinkwater is such a busy player, only criticism were the long balls.
FireFox Posted 20 October 2016 Posted 20 October 2016 Don't see why people are rating Drinky so high. He was pretty wasteful with his hoofs, and King was just better in terms of defensive stats. Maybe he helped control the game a bit, but that's not enough to be a 8 or 9 imo.
EastLondonFox Posted 20 October 2016 Posted 20 October 2016 Defensively I can't fault our players, apart from set pieces where we still look shaky...7+ all round But going forward, I was quite disappointed tbh. Yes it was a good goal, but felt like we should have created a lot more against an average side. Too many times we were hellbent on going long hoof to vardy or slimani's head, almost like we don't believe we can play any differently.
