Ando Posted 9 November 2016 Posted 9 November 2016 Hi there, We are from Holland and me and my son come and visit Leicester-Middlesbrough on 26th november. Is it possible we can visit the training on Friday 25 november? Kind regardz Ando & Teun
Bayfox Posted 9 November 2016 Posted 9 November 2016 Yes and No, you can go stand outside the training ground in the hope a few players may stop and sign items, or allow photos, however there are 2 entrances/exits so it can be a waste of time. They don't allow public into training ground now to watch sessions. Sorry. Where about's in Holland you coming from, who is your team?
Ando Posted 9 November 2016 Author Posted 9 November 2016 We come from the east of Holland and we support de Graafschap, now acting in de 2nd division. Thanks for your answer, any idea what time the training is?

Thanks for your answer, any idea what time the training is? Not sure, I think 10am @Lcfc_lass10 maybe able to help, she knows a coach there. Family of mine live near Harwich so often get the night ferry over to Holland for a few games, He has adopted Excelsior Rotterdam so he's seen a bit of 2nd Tier Dutch football over the years, Mate of Mine works in the hauge as well so he has ADO season tickets (he's a Southend Fan but needs his football fix) We were last over in Feb and did, Excelsior Friday Night, ADO saturday night, Sparta Sunday afternoon, Sparta was a top 2 clash in the 2nd tier at the time, hope you find Leicester as welcoming as I do Holland, however, we get access to the players/directors lounge at Excelsior so maybe Holland is a little more relaxed than Premier League Clubs. Are you doing a Game on the Sunday as well?
Ando Posted 9 November 2016 Author Posted 9 November 2016 Sunday we fly from Birmingham at 15h00 in the morning i think we do a stadium tour [ king power] Saturday morning will be an option to visit a match of the Leicester Youth, if there is .... Google just for "de graafschap" or "superboeren" enjoy :-)

According to Jamie Vardy in his book, they arrive around 3 and a half hours before kick off so they can have a meal and chill out in the players lounge.
ramadaone Posted 10 November 2016 Posted 10 November 2016 The players are not allowed to stop now outside the gate due to health and safety there is a sign up telling supporters not to hang around the gates plus there is a 24 hour security moving you on its bad enough watching the games so god knows why you would want to watch training as well no academy home game on the 26th best bet if you want a few autographs is to get to the game very early on match day

I think you'll have better chance. If you catch them on matchday when they're walking into the ground they'll stop and sign.
Ando Posted 12 November 2016 Author Posted 12 November 2016 We stay in the holiday express so thats a good start
slymunn Posted 12 November 2016 Posted 12 November 2016 For a 3pm kick off the players start to arrive at the ground from 11 if that helps anything.
Rob1742 Posted 12 November 2016 Posted 12 November 2016 Gone are the days of watching the players train at Belvior Drive. I remember Mark Wellington asking me to stay at the back of the goal to collect theballs for him. He put me over a fence into someone's garden to go and retrieve a ball. Also got a right bollocking off coach Ian MacFarlane for taking a shot at Steve Humphries when I was supposed to gather the balls together. Jock Wallace asked me for ten pence for his autograph, then clipped me around the ear for not giving him the money. Saw a massive argument between Alan Young and Mark Wallington once. Gary Mills always used to come over and ask me what I thought of the game on Saturday, or about the following game. Remember Pleat going through every tactic possible that Plymouth would throw at us on Saturday. We were so well prepared we could never lose. We lost 2-0. The last time I was there Anthony Knockaert came out of the gate and gave me a hug and opened his heart out to me about how things were for him at the time. I think that proved to me that footballers generally don't change, but football has. The training ground was the best place to visit if you were a true fan who lived and breathed the club.
