KingKante Posted 29 November 2016 Posted 29 November 2016 Loved it last season but really starting to hate the look of it this season, also seeing the same team line up each week isn't getting me excited anymore, I want to see some new blood in the starting line up to freshen things up, performances would suggest the old guard are getting a little bit stale.. Question is why tinkerman is too scared to tinker?
Vindaloo FOX Posted 29 November 2016 Posted 29 November 2016 i love 442 but it only works when you have two strong CM's who can create and defend sadly we have only one who does that job .
foxy boxing Posted 29 November 2016 Posted 29 November 2016 we need to be able to play other systems and not just stick rigorously to four four two, we have to have adaptability and the fortitude to be able to change things against certain opposition
foxes21 Posted 29 November 2016 Posted 29 November 2016 Wait to see how Mendy performs with Drinkwater, before we write off the formation.

KingKante Posted 29 November 2016 Author Posted 29 November 2016 It just looks abit amature especially when we have players capable of playing something other than 442

Good idea but when will that be December January when it's to late. We need a system for the here and now. Not to carry on struggling until maybe Mendy returns then hope it works. What if one of Drinky or Mendy get a serious injury? We need ready options to use and we don't have them. The Tinker Man has forgotten how to tinker.

Koke Posted 29 November 2016 Posted 29 November 2016 I'm also getting fed up with 442 with central midfielders who go missing. Can't wait for Sunderland on Saturday with King and Amartey in CM in a 442.
Dan Posted 29 November 2016 Posted 29 November 2016 I only hate a formation when it hasn't got the players to work.
okie fox Posted 29 November 2016 Posted 29 November 2016 With Kante, 4-4-2 was like 4-5-2. This season, with Drinkwater suspended, it is 4-3-2.
Chico1958 Posted 29 November 2016 Posted 29 November 2016 I just love.................................... Leicester Don't care if it's 4-4-2, 3-5-2, 1-10 as long as they play with: Passion, Skill and they Care.

Claudio must realise that without the main reason we won the league last year, Kante ,we have to play the system that put us on the right track during survival season. 3-5-2. Morgan Huth Fuchs - Albrighton King Amarty Riyad Schlupp- Vardy Slimani. Maybe Gray for Albrighton if you really wanted to be adventurous. We have signed players in the summer that are no better than we have got and it could be argued that we are weaker than the great escape season as Cambiasso was a big plus. We have to bolster the midfield with more bodies as teams are passing round us with ease and I am sick of seeing our only creative player (Riyad) being given the ball hemmed in on the touch line on our 18 yard line, and if further up the pitch with 2 men on him. Bring him off the touchline, look how Hazard has improved at Chelsea with free role.

With our current midfield we need to cram it so 451 seems like the only option at the moment. Plus we all know King is way better in a 5 man midfield.
Guest Posted 30 November 2016 Posted 30 November 2016 I'm fairly sure in the last game we were playing 6 - 2 - 2
sk3since03 Posted 30 November 2016 Posted 30 November 2016 A pacey CB who is also good on the ball and a decent CM in Jan and switch to a 352
Guest Danny Clender Posted 1 December 2016 Posted 1 December 2016 I guess with all the, still, speculation surrounding Ndidi, this shows a commitment to 4-4-2. It can work, but you need a Viera, Keane, Souness, Kante, type of player to make it work. Therefore, its a lot of pressure on a 19 year old to have. I'm not being downbeat on the signing, as his stats and potential really do add up to a "Kante replacement" but we just walked over the Champions of Belgium, so let's see what happens.
foxes21 Posted 3 December 2016 Posted 3 December 2016 Chelsea's display first half Vs Man City is why Claudio doesn't like the 3-5-2. Because it can easily become unbalanced and countered by experienced managers. Playing with two banks of four is the most balanced formation for our players, we just need Mendy back asap to protect the defence. Lets be honest when we started getting results with the 3-4-1-2 in our great escape season, we were playing teams that had nothing to play for (Southampton, Swansea, West Ham).. The only teams that needed to beat us were Chelsea & Burnley.
