The question I'm asking myself is as matty James was fit enough for the bench against boro, why he wasn't for last night's match and young Harvey Barnes made an appearance?

Has he had a setback? Thought an hour for mendy and 30 mins for James would have made sense?

I really just want to see Matty James play now. We'll see if his body stands up to it and he can't be any worse than King or Amartey.

I can see the logic of the replies that he wast in the original squad. But was Barnes?

As an under 21 or 23 I don't think he has to be in the original CL squad.

I agree with this. People seem to think James is going to be the answer to our midfield problems. The guy has barely played for nearly 2 years so he's hardly gonna be the catalyst that suddenly turns our poor form around. In Jan I'd like us to sign 2 top centre mids, one attacking and one defensive and send James and amartey out on loan  and king can be 5th choice behind the 2 new guys, drinky and mendy. Easier said than done of course as signing 1 top centre mid will be difficult in Jan never mind 2!

I don't get letting Barnes go on for 20 minutes in a game we were already 3-0 (or was it 4 then?) down. We're not going to learn anything and neither is he from that experience.

 

On Saturday he'll be nowhere to be seen again. And who will make the bench this week? Mendy or James? One week Ranieri selects one player and the next week it's another.

Not think he got on as there was no one else? Only fit cm on the bench wasn't he?

I dunno who's fit and who isn't these days. I saw James get off the bus at Sunderland but he wasn't on the bench? I think Mendy was.

Mendy could be brilliant for all we know, he's barely played.
