This time next year we'll be 8 points clear at the top of the Prem... only 8 points? .......thats whats wrong with this place, so negative!
Guest Danny Clender Posted 8 February 2017 Posted 8 February 2017 I still don't understand this topic or many of the responding posts. It seems like leaving the game in the 60th minute because you "know" the result. I'm sure you'll be able to take great pleasure if your prediction does come true, "I accepted relegation in February" Really slow hand clap to you if you are right.

I think there could be some hope that a new manager might just save us, but I really don't think that will happen in time. It would have to happen now, really, and I expect Claudio will be given at least another 4 games. If I were the owners, I'd be looking for a manager who will be able to get us promoted from the Championship as soon as possible. Well there is one..... Nah, not a chance.

SheppyFox Posted 8 February 2017 Posted 8 February 2017 Once we've hammered derby and Swansea we will be on the up, it'll all change now those lazy ****ing players know Ranieri won't be removed by the board. They'll realise the only ones they're damaging are themselves.

I've absolutely no ruled out an FA cup final, champions league semi and staying up on the last day. Or knowing us, final, final, lose both and be relegated on the last day!
stretch1965 Posted 8 February 2017 Posted 8 February 2017 I will never write them off, in the last three seasons as we all know we've had the great escape, the League and finished top in the CL group. but if we do go down then we pick our selves up and go again. While we have these owners we will always have a chance. unless Jon Toss refs all of our games of course.

Never left a game early and I don't have a crystal ball. OP was lighthearted and more about me protecting my sanity than anything else. If you think I'll take any happiness or glee from being relegated, then you are way wide of the mark. Peace

You must mean Claudio, he has a good record of taking teams up from the second teer into the top flight, at least three times. There used to be a good bloke called Pearson but when he last tried it with Derby he was crap and got the sack. Their new manager however has since done well with the same team though.
Guest Danny Clender Posted 8 February 2017 Posted 8 February 2017 Thanks. Your post was definitely read first, definitely not maybe, also I've just read your post again 3 times, so I can confirm your post has been read. No accusations in claiming you personally leave games early, just likening your post to that scenario. No accusations in claiming you will take glee from seeing Leicester City relegated, just implying you will be happy if your post does come true and that making your peace was worth it with 14 games to go. You've made you peace and that's important. I guess i'm just a little annoyed with people accepting relegation at this stage of the season. Only supporters can do this, if you were anyway connected to the club in a player/staff role, would you even consider this? No, so why make peace with it now, come on, knuckle down and hope for the best its much more fun than giving in.
Milo Posted 8 February 2017 Author Posted 8 February 2017 Impressive reading, good going. Genuinely, I'd be interested to know why relegation shouldn't be accepted as a strong likelihood at this stage of the season. Great escape year I thought we played pretty well and were unlucky in some matches. This year I really, honestly, truly haven't seen anything that suggests we are equipped to stay up. Really. Honestly. Truly. Need the same amount of points that we have now, with a lot less games left in which to get them... Of course I want us to stay up, I travel 300 miserable miles to watch the games, (or 300 happy miles, depending on the results). And of course I'll continue to support the team, wherever they play. Just don't think blind tub-thumping optimism is enough to guarantee the massive, massive change in attitude, aptitude, desire, work rate, etc etc required to get out of this awful malaise. Its the hope that kills you, and I fully respect your right to be hope for the best
