Northernfox123 Posted 19 February 2017 Posted 19 February 2017 This should been season where club laid firm foundations to. Build on next five years But instead the whole shambles is falling apart The players should take a lot of the blame thinking that they are Bertie big bolloxs types this season Behind scenes to from snr management Rudkin and co let the club down with shambolic transfer policy.things are so out of control makes me wonder how far we will fall relegation will set club back at least five years Only Leicester city could win the prem league then mite go down this season we don't do things by halves Just hope prey that something clicks and we get out of this Looking back now as good as winning the league was the embarrassment of going down is depressing thought
Fox92 Posted 19 February 2017 Posted 19 February 2017 The manger who actually built/was building the club up was sacked. Ranieri came in. He even said "I didn't have to change much". Now he has changed stuff we are a mess. Signings are not good enough, probably on a bigger wage than their ability justifies, and these players will be off as soon as we are relegated.
steflcfc Posted 19 February 2017 Posted 19 February 2017 The one thing Pearson did at the club was ran it pretty much the way he wanted. He trusted Shakespeare and Walsh and that was invaluable in their relationship, and most decisions they made in footballing terms were welll thought out and justified. Players were scouted and personality checks/info so they were bringing the right player which also went with the ethos of how the changing room was! Last season I have no doubt with some tactical genius from Ranieri in some games he came onto something he didn't need to change, the "band of brothers" was already formed. He never needed to give a bollocking once! Now this season....Ranieri has changed things, important staff has been let walk, players signed and most are questionable or not good enough at huge fees. He has tried changing our style of play and we don't have the players for this "passing game" and he has realised this, but has messed the team around so much that any identity we used to have is vanished. Our band of brothers with this group, has been dismantled and they now look around and pass blame on each other. Raniero also for the first time is having to give out rollickings (if at all he does) as the squad don't seem to come out at half time any different or with a purpose to improve on most first half poor showings. Its been a mess from the start, we have gone backwards this season bar a shining light of the CL No one was expecting heroics of last season again. But improvement ON the pitch and a steady 10th in the Prem with the excitement of the CL was all most were asking. The summer will be a very important one regardless of what league we are in next season. Some players need a move as they aren't good enough, and a rebuild of an aging defence is paramount. Enjoy the remaining 15 odd games it's going to be a rocky/bumpy ride!
Argarath Posted 19 February 2017 Posted 19 February 2017 I think pearson needs anger management classes before he gets another manager job
Tuna Posted 19 February 2017 Posted 19 February 2017 To be fair a lot of us were talking about this in the summer when the signings were not made. Had we not got Slimani in we'd probably have been bottom 3 at christmas. Ironic isn't it? Had that actually happened, CR would aready have been sacked and we'd probably had a better chance of staying up now.

sdb Posted 19 February 2017 Posted 19 February 2017 We have a relatively young squad really. The more I look at it, the more I realise they've just totally lost confidence in their manager. Rightly or wrongly, you can't just turn from champions to lost boys with zero confidence. Imagine if Ndidi, chillwell, Gray, Amartey and others reach their potential. What a side we could have, with the right man at the helm.

Aside from a couple of players brought in, we played the same system as last year until at least Christmas, with pretty much using the same players too. In fact the main critcism earlier this season was that we had to change our system because we had been "found out" (whatever THAT means). It's only in the past couple of months that Claudio's been changing things around... systems... players... et cetra. Which largely goes to show, damned if you do, damned if you don't. Whilst Claudio really ought to be managing better, being badly managed doesn't mean that as an individual player you MUST play badly. Each of the players in our team is their own man, yet, with not enough exceptions, our players' individual performances have been terribly poor. Everyone, from the Top (sic) down to youth team, need to stand up and be counted.

For me that means other sides dropped deeper not playing a high line, so our game of last season where Vardy in particular had space to run in behind was rendered ineffective. It also meant that any harrying and chasing we did would have to be to further up the pitch. When we did it (poorly) we were exposed further back. It also meant our back four had to have better passing skills to bring the ball out effectively, but lacking those and frustrated they have resorted to Hoof!!
NeilLCFC Posted 19 February 2017 Posted 19 February 2017 Whilst the Thais have been great, they've only been great when Pearson has been in charge or while the impact of his work still influenced the club. The best decision they've made was to replace Sven with NP, other than that, their decision making without Pearson / his influence, has been pretty bad. I'm not so surprised they've missed the biggest opportunity in footballing history, any 'small' club has ever had to become one of the big boys.
Winsum Posted 19 February 2017 Posted 19 February 2017 Forget Pearson , he ain't coming back. Couldn't hack it at Derby
CupidStunt Posted 19 February 2017 Posted 19 February 2017 Its such a shame the club has gone the way it has. This season should have had so much promise It was the perfect opportunity to build upon Winning the league, in the CL. We couldn't ever dream of this in our wildest dreams The whole of the footballing world was talking about us..... Perfect timing to bring in some quality players that are used to playing at the highest level, yet we bring in players, that to be honest no one has really ever heard of Its a shambles, and Claudio has to take responsibility. Luckily its not to late to save it, and actually stay up. But a change in management has to be made If we never won the league last year, claudio would have been gone at christmas, The fact that he remains is the owners being loyal, and this im afraid is a poor business decision
