Fire on Ravensbridge Drive

A large plume of smoke has been spotted in Leicester city centre - with the fire service confirming they have been called out to a blaze at an electricity sub-station.

It isn't known when the fire broke out but it is known that it is in the Ravensbridge Drive area.

A spokesman for Leicestershire Fire and Rescue said the resulting power cut is affecting 45,000 homes in the area.

I don't understand that tbh, nowhere near. We saw that alert pop up but I don't get why.

News just coming in:

 

Police have confirmed that a raid on a house next to Beaumont Leys library found guns and several thousand pounds worth of drugs.

 

Neighbours expressed their shock - they didn't know Beaumont Leys had a library..
