Been spending some time looking into football teams in the British Isles with links to others or 'friendships'.

 

By no means an exhaustive list and some are much bigger than others but have found -

 

Oldham - Frankfurt

Crystal Palace- Panionos 

Bristol City - Willem II

Peterbrough - Ceseana

Man City - Torino

Newcastle - Shrewsbury

Tottenam - Aberdeen

Tottenham - Ajax

Sunderland - Feyenoord

West Ham - Lazio

Southampton - Roma

Liverpool - Gladbach

Middlesbrough - Oberhausen

Sheffield Wednesday - Fiorentina

Swansea-Den Haag - one of the biggest and longest going I think. All started when a young Den Haag fan wrote to Swansea to find a pen pal so he could practise his English. He later went on to become their chairman.

 

Think a lot of those mentioned are just personal friendships rather than anything.

Aberdeen's Red Ultras used to have a link with Boavista, Green Brigade at Celtic also used to be friends with a group at Toulon in the French fourth division. lol

 

Rangers and Hamburg is a big one too, think it predates the Celtic-Pauli thing.

Yeah Rangers Hamburg does appear to be big.

Think they have enjoyed the Leicester roller coaster this year. I've bumped into a few in brugge and porto. 

 

I am sad to report we did lose to them at table football in porto :ph34r:

 

Just read the piece on the ufs site. Think i may have to take in a home game next season.

There's a cracking little bar just off the Reeperbahn called The Millerntor. Completely decked out in St Pauli and Celtic gear.

Spotted aload of Koln and Dortmund stickers in Sheffield today. These would have gone up at the weekend as Koln was playing a friendly at Sheffield FC.

 

A small number of Dortmund ultras travelled with Koln.
