Lovejoy Posted 11 April 2017 Posted 11 April 2017 I'm down at the Oval on the 1st June for England v Bangladesh. Anyone else heading to any games this summer?
StanSP Posted 11 April 2017 Posted 11 April 2017 3rd June - Sri Lanka vs South Africa at The Oval 4th June - India vs Pakistan at Edgbaston - this will be crazy 8th June - India vs Sri Lanka at The Oval 11th June - India vs South Africa at The Oval
Voll Blau Posted 11 April 2017 Posted 11 April 2017 I'm sure I'll watch it and hopefully it'll draw some good crowds, but I do struggle to get excited about it as a tournament. Very much a second rate World Cup, a situation which is only going to get worse given the ICC's ludicrous policy of letting less associate nations enter that.
Hitesh Posted 12 April 2017 Posted 12 April 2017 Going to the Oval on the 1st, first two India games and then the final! I went t a few games last time and was brilliant cricket and better than the World Cup. I think the format lends itself to make all games really competitive and teams have to go all in for every game Just hope the suns out for the games!

Lovejoy Posted 31 May 2017 Author Posted 31 May 2017 Really looking forward to getting down the Oval tomorrow. Thinking I should have booked Friday off in hindsight though .

Lovejoy Posted 1 June 2017 Author Posted 1 June 2017 Beautiful day here in London. Hoping England can turn up and do what they're capable of.
StanSP Posted 1 June 2017 Posted 1 June 2017 brilliant from Tamim to get his 100. Great knock so far.
Hitesh Posted 1 June 2017 Posted 1 June 2017 Good day today, sun was belting out, good banter all round and decent batting. Was lacking slightly in excitement but expect this to come with the games in the next few days. If Eng batted first they would have hit 400+ and hit a better net run rate but we'll see if that becomes a crucial decision
Darkon84 Posted 2 June 2017 Posted 2 June 2017 Woakes ruled out of the tournament now, but no replacement named as of yet
foxy boxing Posted 2 June 2017 Posted 2 June 2017 good win for England against Bangladesh but really sad that Woakes is ruled out of the tournament. good seeing Root hit a century and a good start to hopefully a great tournament for England!
StanSP Posted 3 June 2017 Posted 3 June 2017 great day at The Oval today. Perfect conditions for cricket. Bit disappointed with ABDV's contribution (or lack of) with the bat. Made up for it with the run out though. Amla is brilliant to watch. So calm and composed. SA won as expected. Just seen that Tharanga has now got a 2-match ban for a slow over rate. Harsh?

foxoffderby Posted 5 June 2017 Posted 5 June 2017 Enjoyed India v Pakistan. Thought Yuvraj Singh had a great knock. Very one sided in the end. The Pakistani fielding was a shambles.

I know Pakistan aren't what they used to be but didn't think they'd be so bad. Their wicket-keeper was very poor I thought - was never near the stumps to take in any catches and it was quite amusing to be honest Was a bit surprised when Pandya came in instead of Dhoni. After the 19 off 4, good call . Usual excellent batting from Kohli and well supported by others around him.
Lovejoy Posted 6 June 2017 Author Posted 6 June 2017 I saw a tweet this morning saying that it's very windy but no rain in Cardiff, is that still the case? Given the Australians bad luck with the weather would be great to win again today.
Darkon84 Posted 6 June 2017 Posted 6 June 2017 How on Earth have England got to this total. Even when they're batting below par, they're still getting runs. Very happy with that.

In which case no pressure to do anything against Australia and all pressure on them to qualify.
