kingcarr21 Posted 10 May 2017 Posted 10 May 2017 Comfortable 3-0 win and peoples confidence in Shakey goes down.

Koke Posted 10 May 2017 Posted 10 May 2017 Can't the manager get a rating like players? That way it's more applicable. It's better than just Stay or Go surely? For example Albrighton got 8.2 on average and Shakespeare got 8.1 on average for this game.
Guest the fox Posted 10 May 2017 Posted 10 May 2017 I'm one of drinky's biggest "critics", but come on now. He was nowhere near our worst performer. But hey, people need a punishing bag after the usual suspect played good the last game.

People generally mark how they see it, not because of an agenda. I know I do and Drinkwater definitely ranked last in my selection. Maybe you'd prefer the Mercury ratings where no one ever merits less than 6.

Guest the fox Posted 10 May 2017 Posted 10 May 2017 DB must be fuming knowing that he has to point that out every other match rating thread

Koke Posted 10 May 2017 Posted 10 May 2017 Then why can't people see that the (-1.23) is compared to the manager score from the previous game. Not that people like him less after a routine 3-0 win but because the manager performance v WBA was deemed better than the the manager performance v Watford.

Because the -1.23 is based on more people voting go this game than they did last game. As shown when Ranieri left, it does show a clear trend over the course of the manager's reign even if game by game the fluctuation doesn't appear to make sense.
Melbourne Fuchs Posted 10 May 2017 Posted 10 May 2017 I though Huth was (uncharacteristically) our worst player. Surprised Fuchs was rated lower than him, even though it was only a small difference.

The game fluctuation doesn't make sense when the going is good. In circumstances in which any sane person would keep the manager the stay/go percentage simply becomes a representation of how many 'hilarious' voters decided to 'banter' the vote.
WigstonWanderer Posted 11 May 2017 Posted 11 May 2017 Perhaps Mahrez' high rating will cheer up our Algerian friends
fazzyfox Posted 12 May 2017 Posted 12 May 2017 With manager performance / confidence :- It's not the exact same group of voters marking week in week out, even with the guidelines their "standards" will differ slightly from person to person so whilst the pattern is very interesting it doesn't mean the same people have increased or decreased their appreciation / faith. A match like Watford required less managerial masterstrokes than the digging in and holding on away to 8th placed West Brom. He's on a hiding to nothing though, draw or lose to that Watford side and he's blamed for inadequate substitutions and tactics, beat them comfortably without changing shape and they were there for the taking anyway! It could be said he managed the Watford game absolutely perfectly resulting in top marks or that his skills weren't at all tested and can't warrant him being over complimented!
