fuchsntf Posted 2 July 2017 Posted 2 July 2017 You have to respect the Germans..... Every year they keep finding players, that just slot into their internationalset up and , team/squad. Rebuilding runs over the various tournaments, so smooth and well oiled. They stutter at times, and can panic in a game, but few opposition teams have quality or discipline, to grab those moments. They find not 1-2 players over a short period, but could well field a 2nd team that would be just has dangerous and successfull. Press give them space, and patience, but will also throw out comments and critic, but back them also with confident support. Who ever has managed, since 1966 ( in my memory), has found a consistent answer and method to play to the squads strengths. SO !! What the hell are we doing wrong...do our fans, our manager, then the younger players get ahead of themselves, then run scared. Venables Hoddle, were imo, good managers for England. Eriksson and Cappello, were not poor, in fact quite good, but like the fans, like Capello said a few times, he couldnt understand, when giving the talented players the freedom, they seem inhibited when putting on the England shirt to play like they do every week in the Premier league for their clubs.... Do any of you bright sparks have an answer, for our permanent woes...???
StanSP Posted 2 July 2017 Posted 2 July 2017 superb record internationally since getting knocked out at Euro 2004. Reached a semi-final or further in every international tournament played in since 2005. Not sure how many other national teams, if any, can boast that kind of record or longevity of always challenging at the highest level. And occasionally winning tournaments too or coming close. I don't know what their youth 'model' is like but to churn out youngsters with so much talent that go on to realise their potential can't be down to luck.
Tuna Posted 2 July 2017 Posted 2 July 2017 Remember when we beat them 1-0 at Euro 2000 in Charleroi with a 38 year old Lothar Mattheus playing? Germany looked like they were entering a dark age but what happened after was anything but. They know what they are doing.

Yes, they had a revolution at the same point our FA were performing a route and branch investigation into what went wrong. And given the German sides emergence in Europe over this time compared to English clubs, it suggests they've got the overall package right, not just the national team. Thank you FA + Premier League (twats!)
steveherbe Posted 2 July 2017 Posted 2 July 2017 So fking boring though, just finished watching the Confed cup final, had a job to stay awake. Chile were ok -crap but ok- Germany could seriously make me stop watching football. Dive, dive, dive, like watching their U-boats
Dan Posted 3 July 2017 Posted 3 July 2017 If you get bored watching Germany I hate to think what happens when you watch England They have the set up spot on. I think they'll be lifting that trophy again in a years time. The Bundesliga is an excellent structure. It's such a shame in my eyes that there's one team so dominant. It's the only proper catch with the league.
Stadt Posted 3 July 2017 Posted 3 July 2017 The standard of coaching in Germany is the best in the world closely followed by Spain - for example - the C license course here doesn't really explain or teach coaches about pressing and it's treated like it's just a fad. How backwards is that?
GaelicFox Posted 3 July 2017 Posted 3 July 2017 Pride Germans prove pride on the field same with the Southern Europe teams the german fans don't ritually abuse their players !!! English fans do !!! England players are beaten before they pull on a shirt the press is disgusting and too many ****** follow England English players talk about pride but they play with fear german players play with pride and they talk about fear of failure the premier league is not helping, the fa being corrupt is not helping , the foreign players are not helping , the academy system is not helping , the press is not helping , the **** fans are not helping England have all the tools to win the World Cup but not a clue have to use those tools and before people jump up and down I have been to see England play 30 times or more ... and Unlike most paddies I have no chip on my shoulder and would love to see them do well
