Or a mini football pitch with city player dummies he  can kick a ball at (or axe throwing practice).

So many to choose from.

Haha, yeah it's our renovation project. Not sure about the incredible hulk, my back is absolutely fvcked

We've probably filled three skips full of old shrubs, roots, stumps, rocks, slabs, bricks, rubble, weeds, old trellis/gates, posts, and various shite.

It's been a bitch digging it all out and a bigger bitch trying to level it (and now doing the same out the front)

Nearly ready to put down seed and fertilizer. Thought about turfing the whole lot but ran out of money!

Did you cut the trees down yourself and dig up the roots? I feel like a sad sack of a man if you did lol

What did you use, agent orange? :o

I love how your garden used to look :(

Not agent orange, but a shit load of Round Up!

The original estate agent pictures don't show how badly overgrown and out of control everything was (the house was empty for over a year before we moved in)

The ivy and brambles were strangling everything and the trellis was broken with the weight so we decided to start again from scratch.

Neither me or the wife are gardeners so we just want something low maintenance. I don't mind mowing but that's my limit :D

My wife loves solar lights and my back garden lights up like Blackpool in September.

Surprised our neighbours can sleep at night.

Could turn it into our new training ground for when we're in League One and have to sell Seagrave.

Few garbage bins full of ice for the players!

Izzy, could have fit a solid garage in that space for detailing and gutting animals for dinner.

Yeah, invested in a reciprocating saw amongst other tools and literally chipped away at everything when I had time. The stumps of the main trees took three of us to put in the skip, they were that heavy.

The garage is another story. Knocked the bricks down between two singles, put a RSJ up and converted into a double with rollover door.
Haven’t washed my car in about 9 months but once this garden is done, hopefully back to detailing!

I have two single doors as well and would love to turn it into a double door for detailing only reasons. Not the greatest option for cold Canadian winters if you are heating it but whatever.

Nice work, im sure it will look great once all done.

Garages aren't for cars, they're for storing junk in.

Get rid of junk, then you have space for cars. Duhhhhhh

Smart job @Izzy

Sometimes, when it's that neglected and over run, the best plan is to just start again.

I will say that paying a couple of hundred quid for a man with a machine to grind out the nearly 100 tree and shrub stumps we had, was money well spent.

Yeah, good shout. The first job we did was to cut down a huge tree from the front lawn that's roots were damaging the drains. Got a local guy out to grind the stump (but we still had a huge job getting rid of all the roots). In hindsight should have got him back to do the smaller trees in the back garden as it took forever.

Get some piranhas

Not resorting to that just yet.

Hung some old CDRs with scary yellow eyes painted on them from the branches of the trees next to the pond last night, to absolutely zero effect as the heron was stood by the pond when I got up.

I've therefore ordered a traditional plastic replica heron, which can supposedly be effective particularly if you reposition it regularly as herons are apparently quite intelligent and can work out if they're being had.

Also, if the real heron has amorous intentions towards the replica one, it may give me an opportunity to sneak up on it and twat it with a hammer while it's distracted, or at least attach an envelope to it containing an essay in which I attempt to persuade it to mend its ways, I dunno, I'm not Attenborough.

I think the heron may be a dunce anyway as it turns out it has failed to catch at least 3 of the 4 fish I am vaguely bothered about, they are just really good at hiding, so with that in mind I've fashioned them a special hiding cave from an upturned plant basket with a hole cut in the side and some stones on top to stop it floating

The jury is very much out on plastic herons. Some say they can even attract herons.

However, death of fish hiding in plant baskets with rocks on are well documented.

Heard a song thrush this morning. Almost like it knows they are the best singer around. Says to the other birds call that singing just listen to this!

One of the best, but all of the blackbird family are excellent singers too.

As I type this, just seen my first bat of the year!
