Thinking back to Schmeichel’s two yellows at Forest - to this day I still don’t understand what the second yellow was for? As in, what actual offence was committed?

Kicking the ball away I'm guessing?

Sure, that’s what happened - but what offence is that? If it had been during play, you could argue time wasting. But it was half way through the second half and during a stoppage. Oh and he kicked it towards the centre of the pitch, which is where it needed to go anyway.

I beg to differ. Its one of the most hateful of tackles, you get beat by a bit of skill, so deliberately grab your opponent to stop play and allow your team to regroup. Saints did it several times yesterday, really pisses me off. In my world it should be a yellow every time, perhaps even a red. Thought Moss had a decent game yesterday - never thought I'd admit to that.

I agree with all that.  I think refs are cracking down a bit more on players who grab those who get past them.  I thought Moss had a pretty good game too, and got the big decision - the sending off - right.

I agree with your agreement..... :-).

There is a world of difference, for me, between a full blown late challenge with no malice and a professional and cynical foul, no matter how small it seems. The latter should be a booking every single time; that little pull back to stop a break is cheating.

That Hojbjerg should have been booked for his first studs up challenge against Chilwell. Hojbjerg looked a nasty piece of work. And Long's obvious body check against Chillers was a yellow. At least he carded Hojbjerg for his dive though. Won us the match.

Strange how he just quit out of nowhere. Certainly gives you paws for thought.

Yeh Madley was recently registered to ref fifa fixtures - why quit when you are going to be let off your leash reffing in Europe for the first time?

Clearly going through a ruff patch.
