Exactly. So unless anyone meets our valuation he doesn’t move. Ergo we set the price. He either moves for what we set or he doesn’t move. It’s about how much he is worth to us not what the market dictates.

I noticed, but no longer feel the need to say anything. I tend to go for absurd auto correct these days :)

Well, if you're feeling very sad, you could do a time & motion study of my postings in the recent past, and then you could read every single post by every single poster and count their typing errors, and then correlate the two :)

Yes, yaw saife.

This is correct but this is getting a little off topic now, if we set a value of 100 million and the highest bid we get is 30 it's pretty clear the market does not value him at 100 million therefore he is not worth 100 million much in the way said tea spoon on eBay is not worth £20. This is about worth and if he will leave for a certain amount not if he stays or goes and if we set an asking price of 100 million I'm pretty sure he will stay, at the moment anyway, no ones going to pay that as he's not worth it.

We seem to get over defensive about Mahrez crowing huge figures etc fact of the matter at the moment doesn't even look like anyone is even interested. No one even came close to the 50 we were asking for in the summer never mind 100. That could change in the summer obviously.

two reasons why hé isn't valued at 100 million.

1-he plays for leicester!

2-he doesn't have an exutic nationality.

consistency has nothing to do with it. mane wasn't consistent but got his move. hazard an coutinho aren't exactly the poster child for consistency but they're considered "world class"

You keep comparing him to an item that wants to be sold... this teaspoon analogy.

The main point is we don’t want to sell. It’s basic economics. Supply and demand.

Virgil is not worth 75 mill but he was to Southampton therefore Liverpool has to pay that price. If someone REALLY wants Mahrez as no one else will do then they have to meet our valuation otherwise it’s a non starter.

Pretty much what I think Taggs, if this were a poker game I'd much rather hold our cards! Moreso  now the thinking man has taken him under his wing lol

Correct, and if we ask for too much, no one will meet our valuation. As he isnt worth it. And given there has been little to no interest in him, I struggle to see why we think someone is going to come along with a nine figures offer. Virgil also only went because Liverpool were willing to pay the price.

Lets remember we were widely reported to value him at 50 in the summer and no one even tried to get close and unsettle him.

And long may this continue Manwell so he can continue to shine in a developing and improving Leicester side! lol

I think the summer has shown we are not going to be bullied over a transfer fee, especially for Mahrez. Minimum £80m

Well yeah quite, I'd prefer him too stay I'm quite happy no ones bidding. Doubt it will last till September though if he carries on in the form he is in.

To think that Roma's first bid last summer was a paltry €23m. Even on the back of last seasons disappointment that was insulting.

I suspect we have a similar opinion but are looking at it from 2 different contexts. Regardless, £100 mill or piss off and sign someone else is my line.
