You could have pocketed more this winter + a free player .

I'm not sure that you will get a 50 million offer again this summer after what happened !

What profit will you get from this situation ?!

A chipped image for the club , owners that don't keep their words (greedy), new players who will hesitate to sign there ...

5 or 100 bn $ dosesn't mean he will not lose money on Mahrez between this winter and the next summer.

They've made the correct decision for our club and its image. That's why they are successful international businessmen, and you're just a fanboy on a forum.

If we sold Mahrez for less than his value at a time we couldn't replace him, we would have been absolute mugs and it would have been open season on players like Ndidi and Maguire in the summer.

Get your head around it- this isn't about Mahrez- he's contracted to Leicester City Football Club until someone puts in a suitable bid which works for the club. End of story.

Great post and so true.

Our owners are not only excellent business people but have real values which run deep. They do not speak out and make rash statements plus they believe in rewarding success hence the lads getting new contracts and cars when delivering success - in return they expect players to behave and honour their contracts.

Despite all the media nonsense they believe they can keep progressing to make the club a Top 6 club and a worldwide brand.

They do not need the money and will only sell on their terms - completely correct and based upon the market Riyad is worth a lot more than the offers with 2.5years left on a lucrative contract.

IF no one offers the money then he stays and plays for another 2.5 years and if he doesn’t perform he will not get a dream move and if he does we win games.

He cost £400k so if he left on a free in 2.5years have we had value - of course we have and there is no way it will get to that.

All the mad fan reaction and take the offers are ridiculous as the club have all the power - hence he is back Training and already crawling back in line.

i am pretty certain they will arrange a contractual release clause of around £80m and presuming he performs he will go.

Hopefully he will only make the bench today and be told to get his head down and win us the FA cup and 7th spot.

Everyone gains in that scenario other than Riyad who in my opinion has lost a bit of respect from fans - he is the best player I have ever seen in a blue shirt but sadly he has let himself down or been very badly advised.

Jog on fanboy

Perhaps our owners did get it wrong not selling him. Look at all the extra fvcking fan boys we have on here now. Roll on the summer window.

Head says we should have sold him for the amount offered. Heart says I'm glad we didn't. I don't think without Mahrez we have any chance of winning FA Cup. Will be the right decision if he helps us win it!

The bad thing about him leaving on a free in 2 years is that he doesn't want to he here and could have a negative effect on the squad. We just need to sell him and whether we get £40m or £80m is irrelevant. He's been a great player for us, the best I've ever seen at Leicester, but we've had our monies worth out of him and it's time to move on and sell him and find a replacement

That is a valid point, the manager will need to decide if thats happening or not.

Given mahrez's statement it looks like to me he took time off for his mental state, rather than going on strike, as usual the press were speculating crap.
