Arsenal signed Aubameyang for just 56m.

Do you really think Mahrez is more valuable

than a man, who  scored 141 goals for

Borussia Dortmund in 4 years?

Virgil Van Dyke cost £75 Million - do you really think he’s more valuable than Mahrez? It’s all relative.

Absolute rubbish.

If I buy an oil painting from a car boot sale for £5 and then find out it's a Van Gogh should I be happy to sell for £1m when it's worth is £50m?

What you pay for something is irrelevant, its what something is worth that matters.

Absolute rubbish.

We are not talking about "something", but about "someone".

The painting doesn't give a damn how you treat it.

A human being does.

You originally made the point that he only cost us 400k so we should be happy to accept Man City's offer.  I merely stated what we paid is irrelevant to what something is worth otherwise it would be great to get our money back on Slimani, Mendy, Musa, etc.

I'm not sure why you feel the need to compare an object to a human being??

75m for VVD is a bad joke. He is, in my humble opinion,

one of the most overrated players in the PL.

Why Liverpool was willing to pay such a king's ransom

is beyond me.

You may be right re’ Virgil but the transfer fee paid for him helped to set the bar for transfer fees involving premier league clubs - and the hugely inflated fee for Coutinho distorted it further.

That's really rich.

Who started talking about "things" (paintings etc)?

YOU!!!

Still not Premier league tried and tested though is he? I also saw lots of comments yesterday asking who is Aubameyang anyway? I guess if you don't watch Bundesliga you likely wouldn't know however everybody knows who Riyad Mahrez is, that's the difference so yes I do think Riyad Mahrez is worth more than Aubameyang. Besides, it's not really for us to value the player, it's the owners to work out what it's going to cost them to replace him. Man City with all their attacking talent and money think he would improve their side - that makes him worth £85m+. Let's say we wanted Zaha as a replacement for Mahrez (not that he's as good), how much do you think it would take to twist Palace to let him go?

Simply not true.

Thanks to the fact, that I have many relatives and friends in

Germany, I can tell you  that Mahrez is almost unknown

there.

How many people do you know in Germany?

How good is your German?

How much time do you spend every year in

Germany?

As I said - see the Benaloune thread -it was a joke.

There's nothing out of line with Mahrez wanting a move. It's business....he's not a fan like FT posters. A players (not all but many) loyalty to his team has hmmmm changed somewhat over the years. So he signed a contract...as do managers and look what happens there. As much as we want him to stay and play out his contract, he's allowed to make the request. Not sure why so many are upset....

Bench him, trash him, send him to the reserves....seriously get a grip.

He's is a fantastic player for us and will likely be the rest of this season. No one here ever got pissed off over something and sulked somewhat or drank the night away....he'll get over it.

The Premier League is the most watched league in the World - Fact. Mahrez is one of the most sought after attacking creative midfielders in the Premier League - Fact. He is killing it though, his antics are causing other clubs to look at him and think, do we really want this player, sure he's gifted but will he turn up and give everything if things don't go his way. I can't understand his tactics, what he has done with these strops is so stupid.

Mahrez has better goals and assists over the last few years than Coutinho who went for £142 million.. So in that respect the £95 we were asking for is a good price?

It's all relative..

That's what you may think because you're a supporter and actively follow the club. But in the outside the word it's more like he's being held ransom. His antics will be all water under the bridge when he'll start to perform again.

Beginning with ManCity away.

Bloody good on the owners.

For years we have sold our players on the cheap & watched other clubs extract top price. It’s not just about mahrez. It’s sends a message to other clubs that they can no longer get ‘little leicesters’ best players on the cheap. It tells other members of our squad that they cannot decide to move on at will if they think the grass is greener somewhere else.

We will never close the gap to the teams above us and widen the gap from those below us by selling our best players for anything less than absolute top-dollar (if at all).

it is not for any player to decide what transfer fee the club should accept for them. Would mahrez feel ‘let down’ if we had turned down 50m? 40m?

And all these pundits saying we let 2 of his team mates go - so we should let him go is nonsense. We had no choice with Kante - he had an escape clause. I think this was a lesson for the owners and I don’t believe they have given anyone else a contract with an escape clause since - and I think they were happy to let drinkwater go for 35m having lined up silva for much less.

I think we should have 65 minutes applause on Saturday in appreciation of the owners ?
