This is going to be an interesting Case..

When I Seen If unfold in TV, I Just wondered If the Brighton Player,Just might of been playing mind

Games.Rodriguez reaction seemed to be more of suprise, than sheepish regrets.

Hard words May Well of been exchanged, Rodriguez May have tried to be sarcastic over Bongo

breath, then imaturely misused purposely.

ITS very hard to defending against such allegations.

That said ,whatever is found out,and how it Pans Out,it needs to be shown and within the Sport

Headlined. With guilty party being severely reprimanded, and fined.

I am/will Not Take sides, it Just seemed strange and not so straight forward at the time.

But how did they prove it? They took gaeten's word or it? What if he didn't say it? Is the guy gonna lose money/play time and be branded a racist because of it?

I’ve not seen it, is there any evidence?

All you see on camera in Rodriguez saying something and making a gesture as if to say Bong's breath smelt.

Bong told the ref, he didn't send Rodriguez off, or book him, so make of that what you want.

Also I saw an appearance from Bong on French TV where he basically said Rodriguez insulted him, and he did so because of his skin colour. Seems he was saying Rodriguez didn't saying anything outwardly racist but he said what said because Bong is black. Imo, he can't know that, and to imply that about Rodriguez should result in a large ban for himself.

Did he call him a bad name like negro, monkey, coon or a slave? If not, attributing an insult like bad breath or lack of hygiene to racism is just stupid!

I don't actually know obviously. But he wasn't punished by the ref, and Bong didn't mention it during the French TV show.

Having watched replays the only thing that seems to insult Bong was the bad breath gesture which is obviously  not racist in the slightest and is rather ridiculous, He also doesn't really strike me as racist nor stupid enough to make it that obvious he was being racist  if that was his actual intent. But then you never know what was said for sure unless you were there, that said unless someone else heard the conversation they only evidence they've got is the gesture or one side against another.

For the record he has been "charged" yes which is very far from being proven guilty.

Burnley fans booing at Bong today.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/43937329

Rodriguez is a local Burnley lad.

Hughton was then speaking out about it after the match.

Messy.

I still think what I thought when I saw it at the time (a Monday night game, if I recall).

Rodriguez tried to tell Bong he had smelly breath.  He held his nose and wafted his hand in front of his mouth. It was an attempt to wind Bong up after Bong got right up in Rodriguez’s face following a tackle he didn’t like.

Bong, a native French speaker listening to a bloke with a thick Burnley accent in a noisy environment, perceived it mistakenly as a racial slur and so mistakenly, but in good faith, reported it as a racist incident.

The hearing correctly found the allegations as not proven.

Problem is, the Burnley fans are perceived as a bit, err, “Brexit”, so people will now perceive the booing of Gaetan Bong as racist, rather than anger about the good name of Rodriguez being sullied by Bong’s mistake.

This issue has the potential to linger and stink.

That's up there with Stoke fans booing Ramsey for breaking his leg. Bong has no reason to lie, of course he may have misheard/misunderstood, but I would be surprised if it were an outright lie.
