How many points in the last 11 matches to make you sold on Puel?

It’s all doom and gloom from me after witnessing that retard of a decision against Man City.

Puel will blow it I predict we come 9th. 50pts

6th round of the FA cup.

7th place is ours for the taking especially with our run in, I just don’t see it therefore for me if he fails to get 7th it’s the sack.

Are you fond of attention, perchance?

No, just an honest opinion based on tactical decisions and only winning 2 out of the last 10.

In that case I think you need to develop a sense of perspective.

A sense of perspective in that he has inherited a squad and needs time to move a few players in and out over the next 2 transfer windows?

No with that 1 half time decision I was flabbergasted and tells me everything in that he is not a top coach and not upto the job in a premiership team.

Tell us all about your experience to make such a high-level judgement.

It’s not a judgement it’s a opinion based on watching top level football for 48 years.

Well, it's depressing to me that you can reach such a venerable age and still be so capable of forming an opinion based on one selected piece of 'evidence', ignoring all other.

And does this 1 act of bad tactics not alarm you?

No. He took a risk in a game we were likely to lose and it backfired. Just as Kasper having a total shocker, which was of course annoying, was the right occasion to do it wrong (if such a thing is possible).

Puel has made so many decent tactical/footballing/selection decisions in a short space of time, plus he's obviously a very good man manager, and intelligent to boot. I have formed this opinion based on 47 years of life - but that gives me no right to use it as some sort of self-aggrandisement, as if nobody else has been alive a few years with their eyes open. Your posts have been so uniformly negative and damning, you'll perhaps indulge me in not really giving your opinion a fat lot of credence, since you don't seem to display a heck of a lot of love for much about the club thus far.

First player to have been removed in that match should have been Chilwell. He was also horrendous in the previous match. Simpson can't kick a ball worth sh*t and he's brought on. Albrighton chases a player down better. Simpson's even in possession airs the ball down the wing regardless of who may or may not be there. Silva coming off was not the answer.

Puel: “I don’t know if it was a good thing,” said Puel after the game. “Perhaps not.”

As long as we get enough points to be in the top 8 (or thereabouts) and show clear progression tactically and selection wise, I will be happy to see Puel build for next season. Points wise I would like 6 wins minimum, plus a couple of draws say, out of the last 11 games so somewhere around 55 points will be about right as long as we progress.

I do love the club and I don’t really care what you think of me.

You and a lot of others on this forum are blind because you wear misty coloured specs I will not call call them blue because that would be a pun and as for jokes you are a big joke.

You can insult me all you like - it kind of proves you don't really have much of an argument to be honest.

Not sold yet but at the moment (even after latest match and my feelings) still leaning his way.

Based on where we are now and the matches remaining I can see us finishing 7th. Let's see how this plays out.

People talking about sacking him because we lost to one of the best sides this country has seen in a long while :nigel:

already sold on him, got us playing some nice stuff, there's a clear plan to build there and we're doing well even with the transitioning period. Those who want him sacked are off their rockers.

Is that an opinion based on 48 years of observing nutters?

I expect 7th place or the fa cup final. In the current position we are in I would be very disappointed with less. I think losing this Friday due to playing a weak team and then failing to finish top half would be worth considering a new manager.

I like the side of Puel that plays younger players and bloods youth at any given chance, the fact that he will keep the players on their toes and rotate (to a degree).

He is still very hit and miss re results so I would like to see us be more consistent and defend more solidly including defending set pieces better for example

overall on the report it would be B+ so far but lots of room for improvement and consistency still

I thought the concensus was that people were largely impressed with Puel, the usual doom mongers aside.  Surely no one can be seriously contemplating changing again?

...But if you are, Pardew will probably be available if West Brom get relegated.  That should make you happy.

Anyone genuinely wanting to give him the sack needs to re-evaluate. We need some stability. We need some fresh faces (player wise). We need to get to a consistent level. It will probably take time but you can see how managers who have been given a decent amount of time have flourished like Spurs/Burnely. Arsenal have probably given theirs too much time to be fair though.

7th place and an FA Cup final will show clear progression for Puel. I’d take it.

I think the bloke has great potential and could lead us solidly for a few years, which would be nice.

But for for the sake of balance - Puel OUT!!
