Surely we wouldn't sell Simpson, Could you imagine first game against UTD and Ricardo gets injured for 3 months. Simpson is not a world class defender but is solid...................................... at times.

I'd rather give big dan a run in the side if that was the case.

I feel for Amartey and if he isnt guaranteed first team football he needs to be sold for his own career but Simpson is a better right back option than amartey.

I disagree. Just like Morgan, Simpson has been gifting goals to the opposition now, shouldn't be playing in the first team (or even 2nd choice full back IMO).

Amartey is a good and versatile player but he is not a RB. i mean he was on the pitch once for 10 mins and got 2 yellow cards and sent off as a RB. However other times he has played RB he has done quite well, its like a 50/50 chance if hes is good that day or not in that position and those odds are not good enough.

Unless we are aiming to play 3 at the back and CP is thinking about using Albrighton to cover Ricardos position if something happens.

i think Amartey is much better at CB or CM, but i feel sorry for the guy like i said at his age he either needs to be guaranteed first team football or be sold or loaned out.

The problem for Amartey is he'll never be an 'anything' if he doesn't get a run in the team.

Which is NOT the same as calling him a nothing, I hasten to add.

Didn't Appleton say Amartey's best position is right back?

Selling Simpson makes sense, reasonably big wage,  one year left on his deal, 32 in January and has lost his place. It makes sense for Simpson too as he'll play regular and get the security of a contract extension.

We should always seriously consider selling players on big money who are in their 30's and aren't automatic first team choices.

We have reasonable cover in Amartey and at a push Albrighton or even Fuchs could fill in if Pereira got a long term injury or we could play three centre halves and Albrighton. We shouldn't be scared to let a squad player go because we might get an injury, it's unlikely it would be long term and we'd cope with the squad we have and January is never too far off.

Personally, I’d sell DANNY this window.

Any offers for Simpson, Fuchs, Morgan, Benalouane, Slimani, Ulloa, Musa, Mendy, King, Okazaki and possibly Iborra and Kaputska should be welcomed and seriously considered.

None of the above are first team players or on an upcurve.  If the financial side is right whether it be a transfer fee or wages saved we should rarely refuse an opportunity to get rid of squad players who have little to no chance of ever being a first team player.

I'd think the PL is going to be awash with players who cost a lot of money and just sitting out their contracts and these players can probably be bought for free or minimal fees. I'd like us to seriously try to thin the squad out from the deadwood and have about 15 first teamers and the other 10 supporting players in the squad should be made up of academy players and players on the downcurve who we can't get rid of.

Any other buy we make should either be automatic first teamers or young talented players with potential and if you can buy right, you don't worry about selling until the right deal is presented.

No chance you think Mendy and Kaputska might at least get pre season?

I’d actually keep Fuchs and let him walk for free as he can play LB and LWB and at a push on the left of a 3 in Maguire’s spot providing cover for Chilwell if he picks up an injury - the rest for me can all be sold. (Personally I’d hold on to Iborra too)

It all depends on price.

Fuchs is still useful this season as he's the only viable option to Chilwell. We have Pereira and Evans who can play left back but we don't want to shift around a few players from the first team to get the jigsaw to fit. If we were to get a reasonable cash offer for Fuchs of say £2m+ then it should be seriously considered especially this early in the window.

Iborra will be useful to the squad and will get some decent game time this season you would think but if we could get anywhere near our money back it would be too good to turn down, take the money and run.

Probably as no doubt we'd struggle to sell. Any player who isn't a first team player or is ever likely to be one we should always look favourably on any offers for them. Any that we can't offload ends up staying anyway to supplement the squad.

LM reporting Yohan Benalouane is unhappy at Leicester, however remember how they also reported this in January and he outed it as fake news.

We'd probably let him go on a free, he's looked an absolutely terrible buy the moment we were linked with him as has lived up to that expectation.

€8m for a player who was bought for €1m the season before and voted one of the worst players in Serie A for that season.  You look at all the analysts we have scouting for transfers and it looks really professional but some of our buys look awful before we buy and then prove to be so. I'm convinced I could do better job on my PC at home sat in my underpants.

Rumour I heard, which I do take with a pinch of salt these rumours, Morgan was going notts county, they failed to get promoted so can’t see that happening now.

Again don’t know how true the rumour, I’m definitely not itk, but going back to notts would probably be his preferred option, county or forest, as I believe he still lives there.

On to players we are selling, I said in the season, good clear out fresh ideas, inbound looking positive.

Outbound, I’d like Simpson, Morgan, Okazaki, musa, slimani, sold, for either being not good enough anymore, or potential bad apples ?.

Would like to see Chilwell loaned to a lower division, to play every week, and learn to defend, gray loaned or sold, it’s not really happening here for him.

Replace them with some of the youth we have coming through, as most are bit part players or will be, or keep investing in the exciting talent we seem to be recruiting.

He plays every week for us.

Puel called him a "complete player", Chilwell could end up being a sensational player, allow the lad to develop. He has great assets for a modern full back, sending him on loan to a Championship club would set him back years.

But Simpson can't attack.

With the system we are looking to play our second choice right back should fit the profile.  It would be a good deal for us to sell Simpson with our thanks and best wishes and bring in an understudy to Perreira who can attack aswell as defend.
