Lineker's Left Foot Posted 25 February 2019 Posted 25 February 2019 One of the most under rated vocalists of all time and lead singer of Talk Talk has died. Gutted. Spirit of Eden - what a masterpiece
MrsJohnMurphy Posted 25 February 2019 Posted 25 February 2019 Very sad, Spirit of Eden and Laughing Stock two of the greatest albums of all time
MC Prussian Posted 25 February 2019 Posted 25 February 2019 In loving memory - quintessential Talk Talk:
Blue ROI Posted 26 February 2019 Posted 26 February 2019 Very sad. Mark Hollis influence on the last 30 years in music is extraordinary.
Ron Combo Posted 26 February 2019 Posted 26 February 2019 A true genius. And principled. Left the music business twenty years ago and that was it. Never surfaced again, saying he wanted to devote time to his family. Such a loss. RIP.
purpleronnie Posted 26 February 2019 Posted 26 February 2019 Very sad. Live at Montreux is worth checking out.
Mark 'expert' Lawrenson Posted 26 February 2019 Posted 26 February 2019 Damn, this is so sad, old age certainly creeps up
Blue ROI Posted 28 February 2019 Posted 28 February 2019 Been listening to the last 3 Talk Talk albums the last few days. Was on a flight home last night and got through the whole of Spirit of Eden. It seemed the appropriate album to be playing in the sky. The sheer reach of what Talk Talk influenced is staggering. It's hard to know if Colour of Spring, Spirit of Eden and Laughing Stock are more regarded for being such milestone albums or for the music that followed in it's aftermath. Thinking of a post Talk Talk inspired playlist. Might be way off but.. Mansun - The Chad who loved me Beta Band - Dry The Rain Radiohead - Karma Police How to Disappear Completely!! Treefingers Sarah Mclachlan - Angel Godspeed You Black Emperor - Moya Arcade Fire - Intervention Tunnels Crown of Love
Trav Le Bleu Posted 28 February 2019 Posted 28 February 2019 Possibly the greatest male lead vocalist of the 80s. Another legend lost.
Chico1958 Posted 2 March 2019 Posted 2 March 2019 One of the bands that I still listen to. Essential Talk Talk CD if you've never heard them..... you might be presently surprised. Never got to see them live Such a Shame...….. RIP Mark, you left us some great sounds
